Make an offer to buy 35 acres of pristine Middle Tennessee ridgeland... Check. Close on the raw land... check. Build a small RV park..... UffDa!!! What did I get myself into? Subscribe to follow us on my adventure to build Linden Camp, a new campground on an undeveloped Middle Tennessee ridge.
MORE ABOUT ============= #CometTroy has been full-time RV living since 2016 in his 2007 40' DP (diesel pusher) Class A RV with his primary partner Panelopie, a Black Lab mix.
#CometTroy bought 56 acres (a 35 acre and a 21 acre lots) of raw undeveloped Middle Tennessee Woodlands in Oct 2021 from Tennessee Land and Lakes RV. In the fall of 2021, he stayed in a nearby campground to sleep at night and planned improvements on the land during the day.
Did you get any culverts put in if so who did you choose to do it? I had someone put in my driveway and they put it in the wrong spot and its way too steep and the rain has now washed it almost completely out so that it is not safe to use.
Did you have to buy the expensive transformer or did the utility company buy the transformer and then bill you over time as part of their infrastructure cost?
Thank you for sharing your experiences with starting up your RV park. I know some of the pedestals are rated at 100 A and 20+30+50 A receptacles sum to 100 A, but seems like only permitting either the 30 A or 50 A receptacle to be used would lower the required power to 70 A max assuming the 20 A and 50 A receptacles in use. What is your experience with allocating 100 A to a single RV?
Hi Comet Troy. I have been subscribed and watching you from the start and am looking to buy some land at Hurricane Creek estates from Landmodo. Any chance you can take a look at those lots and make a video of any of the lots with a creek on it?
Hey Troy, Your video has been beneficial for the wife and me. We Just purchased land in Tennessee as well. Would love to come by your Rv park and talk. Thank You for sharing.
Welcome to Linden. I’ve lived here all my life but I’ve traveled the world…. We have a little piece of heaven here . Congratulations and I hope u stay.
I'm thinking of getting an acre or two to put a camper on. A lease to own would be great or even a long term camp ground with hook ups. If you have any suggestions that would be great ❤
Your wife is just like mine, standing in the background thinking theres always a better way to do something or why is he wasting his time.... or (Do we really need this) is her motto
I recommend not using the leveler, instead, see this video and do what this guy did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A3DpoekjKoQ.html He used a grinder to level off all the protruding stones, and I think the end result is great (after the leveler was a fail). Thanks for sharing this.
Hey Comet Troy, Comet Muffin. Forgot to check out the final finish on the concrete when we last saw you. Did you end up top coating it or putting flooring down?
For the primary cable, while it meets the definition of coaxial cable, I wouldn't say it's the same kind of cable that the cable company uses only bigger. Cable companies use various sizes of cables with a 75ohm characteristic impedance. A better description for what the power company uses is "concentric". Meaning 2 things share the same center point. A small point but I am a small man so I had to say it.
We appreciate you taking the time to explain the differences between coaxial and concentric cables. It's great to have viewers like you who add value to the discussion with their expertise.
U can use an overhead transformer for underground also pad mounted transformer u can run secondary cables up the pole for overhead secondary not normally done though but could be done
That is true! We didn't include those special situations to keep the explanation simpler. Our neighbor planned a pad transformer with all underground wire. Towards turn up time, he couldn't get a pad transformer due to COVID supply chain issues. So the power company put a pole and a pole based transformer where the pad was supposed to go and ran wire up and down the pole! It was just crazy!
Well, it does seem that you have plenty of power on the property. What's the next project? I am just getting my power hooked up this week they set the pole on Friday and has been almost 6 months since I place the order for new service
Hi Comet Troy and RV Park builder team, Your videos are very helpful to have basic ideas of Electrical systems of an RV park. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I design RV park from the scratch. Here are some CG Animation of my proposal in North Carolina. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UVu4ilHnhJM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WBs_bo1auho.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PBN1UwE4vf0.html I would love to hear insights regarding my design.
Rodney and Kathy are fantastic. They did all our electrical work on our property, from putting in the electrical pedestal to wiring our home and shed. They guided us through the whole process. Super nice people!
@@taraized Makes sense! CometTroy's Class A motorhome is 40 x 10 (with slides out). That's about 400 sq ft tiny home size and he knows what it's like. The only restrictions we have here in our subdivision is "no mobile homes". Therefore, we can accommodate any size tiny home. However, Tennessee does have a "Ready-Removable" law which applies to shed builds, which are allowed as long as certain requirements are met. TN also permits tiny homes, but regulates the manufacturer, dealer and installer of tiny homes under "Modular Building Units" law, requiring a license. We haven't found that DIY tinys are allowed in TN, but what do we know?
Definitely all those things you mentioned for her safety (hard had, steel toed boots) perhaps even a face shield being that close to the auger. You never know if a rock is going to fly... and some gloves!
