We're Tyler and Todd and we're building a shipping container home that is completely off grid in the middle of the woods! Join us every Sunday as work towards building our homestead and life together!
You guys can do some research on solar heat pumps they connect to the grid and they also have solar panels direct connect to them and you can set them up to run off solar and they just use the grid to keep the display lit up during the night or they 'll prioritize solar over the grid. I think this would work really well for your Lake property
The two of you are always working as hard as you can. Sometimes it’s a good thing to just slow down. I am always telling my daughter, do what makes you happy. So what makes you happy?
The white looks terrific against the wood beams & trim. Well done! Sorry you did not keep the old dining table & chairs though. As dated as they may have been, the quality of the build was way stronger & better than the modern crap that is out there. (Just an older person's opinion who has tried to switch more modern and went back to antique) Hope it holds up for you guys, but judging from the types of screws that usually wear out, so will that wood. UGH!
Thank you for adopting a black kitty and for sharing her with us!! Whenever I go outside and say 'Hi squirrel' to the actual squirrels on my fence I always think of her.
10:53 made me laugh. Someone decided to cuddle the wall abit😹💕! Love that your Charlie, Eddie, and Squirrel have a bigger spot in this video! The diningt able fit so well with the new vibe! I wish that table were sold in the scandinavian countries! Turned out great!
Feels like you boys are back in the groove after a few months of stops-and-starts, and it shows visually and in audio! These past two videos had a 'good old days' feeling about them - well done! And thank you as always for letting us all into your lives XOXOXOX
Had to smile 😃at Squirrel when she walk by the white wall a bit to close had to take a 2nd look he's think she had a few white furry bits bless her your dogs are real characters love them ❤❤ The white has transformed the whole Cabin looks Amazing 🤗 Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
The hutch might be a little 90s but I will say as someone who is always looking at home design trends, built-ins are having a major moment again and people are seeing how useful and cool they are! I'm planning on ADDING built-ins into my old house that probably got removed back in the day. And the points you guys already made in the video itself about it matching the existing woodwork are also obviously solid points on their own! but what I'm trying to say is that everything comes back around again and you'll never regret keeping solid wood, high quality-made stuff!
Been a happy follower for , well, honestly years. 1. Thank you for giving such a loving, safe healthy home to your Charlie, Eddie and Squirrel. So many pets are less fortunate. Love to see the love. 2. The relationship between the two of you is so developed, so centered, so weathered, so warm. It's obvious you have been together happily a long time and worked through the pitfalls we all experience in relationships. Thank you for providing a (admittedly a small window) glimpse of such a loving, joyful relationship. Enjoy it so much second hand. 3. Your work ethic is amazing. You surely deserve all the wonderful fruits of your labors. 4. Any child would be lucky to have you both as parents. Such a wonderful examples of how to make a path in this sometimes crazy, sometimes wonderful life we live. To grow up with parents who know the value of laughter and love and communication and a desire for learning is the best way, IMO. 5. Hunch/hutch! Gotta love the word play. 6. Your videos are so beautifully done, edited, thought out. I know it takes a lot of time, but the effort shines so brightly. Thank you.
Seriously... the hutch must go. Your sight line is terrible. The corner beam is wonderful. Once you add furniture to the space, the hutch will really look wonky. I love you both and have followed you for a long, long time.
“Yeah well it was too dark” no truer words spoken about a basement with no lights. 😂 I absolutely love the white throughout, with that wood! 🤌🏼*chefs kiss 💋 Edit: Squirrel is for sure the Queen of the Lake and will keep you busy cleaning the dining room chairs 😂
I love glass fronted cabinets because I have a cat. Who cares about dated. I dont like it when he pushes things off of my cabinets and they smash. Also I hate dusting. Functional is best. But i wonder if some carefully chosen trim might fix the look on the cabinet. Though i know it would be hard to match the varnish. Maybe you could use some of the boards you had to remove to put in the fireplace?.
Seeing how good the change looks, have you ever thought of touches of black? Maybe create paint swatches of black or a darker stain, & tape them on areas such as beams, window trim, etc. To break up all that same shade of wood. Adding the white in the dining room really made a difference. Good job!
You could change out the hardware on the hutch to a more current style. It looked like Squirrel got a bit of white paint on her face. I'm of the opinion that she thinks she's a dog.
