"It is just picture." She speaks English the way a native Russian speaker would. A nice bit of authenticity. They correctly cast a Russian actress for the part.
The Bourne Movies without Matt Damon are just as good as the ones with him. Why does he get so much credit for these films? Jason Bourne is just an awesome character, regardless of the actor.
Imagine all the real life Jason Bournes and the terrible things that do on behalf of their governments and having to life with those acts your entire life
I feel like if he really was sorry he would’ve left another gun there for her to make the decision as to whether she wanted to take revenge for him upending her entire life. I know it doesn’t fit the story and that’s just my opinion, but that’s what I would’ve done, even if I felt like I had a mission to complete against the ones who wronged me. I’d still give her that choice.
I still can't get over her face at 3:43. Fear, relief, rage, helplessness...all transmitted in a quarter second with no words at all. Beautifully nuanced acting. Oksana seems to be pretty prolific in Russian cinema, but I can't help but feel that we in the west were robbed of the opportunity to see what she can do.
It’s a strange kind of redemption to be the person blackmailed to kill someone’s family, than having the leverage to save and protect that person assuring her that association with yours truly is unnecessary. Yet she insists “you’re my family now. They took my family, but as god is my witness, they won’t take you Jason.” 😢
I wonder why Oksana hasn’t started in any more better films. It’s sad she’s only know for this, Lilya, and Syostry. After that she just just fell off the radar.
Maybe he should have elaborated that he was drugged up and deceived by very bad people and he didn't know what he was doing nor could even remember it until very recently. That might have eased her pain.
I always thought there were a few problems with this scene. First I think if a young woman walks into her apartment and sees a stranger with a gun there she would likely scream and run out. Second I don't think Bourne should assume the girl was told the murder-suicide story of her parents' deaths. It wouldn't be a good idea to tell a young girl her mother killed her father and then killed herself. That would be much too horrific a story to tell a child. I would think the authorities would have come up with a less traumatic story so she wouldn't develop harsh feelings toward her mother. Finally I'm disturbed Bourne didn't tell her he only intended to kill her father. It may have been implied when he said her father was supposed to be alone but he should have made it explicit.
Maybe this is a Mandela Effect thing, but didn't Ultimatum have scene _a lot_ like this? When these movies came out, I remember there being moments that felt like they were mirroring the other.
I thought this his lonely leaving now, was epic, and the exit music was special. Nothing touches this performance. And she is incredibly talented. I personally knew police, and emergency personnel who one day just couldn't do it anymore, they had seen too, too much human death, suicide, madness, horror and tragedy. " That's it. ". The human psyche just says, " No. ". Best wishes. No one's a hero.
august. just watched this with my gf the other night and this whole scene flew over my head when i first saw it as a teenager- how with more emotional depth in my 30s it hit me really hard.
Great pitch would be for a new Bourne movie that Neski Girl goes seek revenge, cause he destroyed her youth. Ends up with the Russian FSB where she gets trained and has access to information to find him. During the movie we get a more indept view of the girl. We get portrait a complex character who is really struggling with her past and to move on. In her mind she needs take out Bourne so she can close a chapter in her life. Bourne has settled in a small town though and has now a daughter of his own. As soon hardend grown up Neski Girl is confronted with the existence of this daughter she gets trouble with conscientious objection in her mind. During the movie you can do a chase where Neski Girl is armed and Bourne is unarmed a runs for his life and trying to shake her off. Which isn't easy. Bourne doesn't reconigze the grown up Neski Girl, cause she wears sunglasses and has her hair colored and all. So with the first escape from her he realizes the past comes to haunt him again, but needs to find out who it is. He thinks that it is someone from within the agency from his former employer. I would included a beautiful landschape as one of the scenery's. A chase in the woods and as a Rambo or McGuyver he needs to improvise.
The only person who has a true right to hate him for the rest of his life. They both know that no amount of apologies will ever be enough for her to forgive him nor to heal the hurt... It is always personal... Poor souls... 😢😢😢
The story seemed very real that the girl just was scared that she cried that he could have told her to go to the authorities to convict him of his crime
