Had this happen to me on West Battle Lake in MN, only I had a hammer handle Pike on the line and it got eaten by a Muskie (I'd guess 45-50") about five feet from the boat. It was awesome, but also startled the hell out of me. You're very lucky to have caught this on camera.
In here Finland, if we catch a big fish (like a Pike), we don't relase it (in lapland because they eat all trouts and other good fishes), we eat it or we just kill it and give it to the bird.
There isn't much to it. need to learn how to read a vexilar, learn where the fish are at what time of day/month and what to use. everything differs from lake to lake.
so ive lived in florida my whole life and im in the air force and im getting stationed up north. ive never been ice fishing. is there anything i need to know?
