Hi There! I am Kat and we are a homeschooling family from the Philippines. We believe that homeschooling is a lifestyle and have been doing this since 2011.
We share on this channel our homeschool journey.
-- Kuya V (homeschooled since birth until Grade 6) -- Ate Z, currently Grade 4 -- Bunso, currently Grade 2
Hi mommy, sorry I don't know a homeschool provider based in Cebu but kahit saan naman po sila pwede po magenroll sa homeschool provider since online po ang transactions and parents naman ang main educators. Like with Peniel, they have homeschoolers from here in PH and abroad.
Question po, agad agad po bang babayaran po yung tuition fee and yung other expenses po? Planning po ksi na mag homeschool this year as a grade 10 student😅
Hello po,.. new to your channel even mga vlogs niyo and review since 4yrs ago pinanood at binasa ko (PENIEL and Busy Bees review) I have a question po kasi planning to homeschool my kid. Ok or pwede naman po ba na 1 Time lang mag Kinder (kinder 2 lang ang anak ko at 5yrs old) then grade 1 na after. I'm planning na wala ng Nursery (independent homeschool ko na lang siya ng 3-4 yrs old?) your answer will really help
Hi Mommy! :)
Good day po ma'am, may tanong lang po ako about homeschool. Paano pa magtransition from homeschool to traditional sachool sa pinas? Eh wala po syang card from homeschooling here in the U S? Ang tanging record lang po nya ay yong enrollment nya every school year from the department of education her?
Wala naman po siguro magiging problem since naka register kayo sa state as homeschooler. Since lalabas po na with foreign credentials ang anak nila, may kanya kanya pong requirements ang mga local schools po na need na ma-comply.
Hi it's our first time to use The Good and the Beautiful for English and Math I printed mine din. I just want to ask why you choose to go indie, mag PEPT ka na lang po ba? We enrolled po kasi ever since ❤
@@wanderWAHM We prefer to go out na po sa DepEd system hence no need for a homeschool provider under DepEd po. We wont take PEPT na po since our accreditation outside the PH po will be enough as school records (considered enrolled in the US with foreign credentials ang mga anak ko), though some still take PEPT kami hindi na po.
We hardly used TGTB before, just some pages, kasi we mainly used the DepEd recommended textbook of our previous homeschool provider. I saw great reviews for MWC and tried it this year, especially for our 9-year-old. So far, I love the idea of their print-friendly pdf version. And the short lessons each day to build the confidence of the students. Will share next time of our review of MWC, maybe after a few months of using :)
@@HomeschoolingVandZ thank you! My son used SOT Curriculum in his previous school and he didnt like the part where in he had to answer similar (if not exactly the same) math problems for his PACE work. Let me know if it’s the same with MWC because I watched other reviews and it was mentioned several times that they target mastery.
@@Maann_Royol Hi Mommy! We used MWC this week, which uses the spiral approach. There's 1 page activity for the lesson, a page for their individual practice, and another page to review previous lessons. :)
Grateful in Arrows and Quivers Homeschooling! ☺️ We homeschooled last 2023, Interest- Led no coming back from DepEd so US accreditation… Puro online lang materials ko po print out lang 😂 then books buy sa book sale, still learning because we still knew and I’m a single mom
But if I print at home, I use 3-hole binders or the snap ring binders (konting pages lang kaya nito). Yung 3-hole binders mas ok for workbooks na 250+ pages
Hi Mommy! Thank you for your questions :) We don't prep for PEPT since the kids were enrolled po sa isang DepEd accredited homeschool provider kaya may documents po sila. This coming SY, we will be under po a US homeschool provider and will have documents pa din po as foreign accreditation, so need for us to do PEPT.
Hello po. For me po at Kinder and Grade 1 levels, mas need matutunan ng bata ang quantities and place values. Kung bihasa na po ang bata sa addition, pwede po kayo mag start sa skip counting para easier for him/her ang multiplication in the following years.
hello Mommy, we we're with Peniel din for a year and the we decided to be independent homeschoolers after. However, after a year we enrolled again sa provider to avoid future issues and hassles in getting DepEd cert. We are currently enrolled sa FMS under their independent learning program.. as in parang independent homeschooling din sya... and super mura.. Can you share Mommy regarding US accreditation? thanks
Sure mommy. We will share kapag officially enrolled na. ☺️ Glad that you found the right provider for you. ❤️ We were pretty much almost independent din with Peniel since we do open curriculum. pero ayun nga po, we don't plan din to go back to a PH school in the near future kaya going independent is better for us.
Do you have your own facebook group that talks about independent homeschooling? My cousin & a friend are thinking to homeschool pero they are overwhelmed. Pero they are concerned about socialization and accreditation.
☺️ I don't have my own FB group po but I am a member of several homeschooling groups. Not sure if I had an old video about this topic on socialization probably fb live pa po. As for accreditation, it depends talaga sa family sa plans nila in the long term. Ako po I personally do not encourage independent homeschooling if may plan na bumalik sa traditional PH school or if Hindi nag homeschool since preschool years. Some parents po talaga mas need ng guidance and that's the support a homeschool provider gives.
Sana in few years mas lalong magimprove yung mga patakaran for homeschoolers dyan sa Pinas. Yung ibang states pa nga, walang requirements eh. Yung test namin, annual assessment for our own record keeping, no pass or fail test. Pero syempre, DepEd has their own reasons bakit ganun yung patakaran. From what I can see naman, they are very supportive sa mga homeschoolers. Slowly making some changes and improvements, yun naman din ang importante.
@@itsjustmephoebe Tama po. Malayo pa ang Pinas but we are happy that in the last 10 yrs mas nakikilala na din ang homeschooling dito. Soon mas gaganda din for all of us. 🙏 I know homeschooling families po who do the ALS route or take the PEPT na lang if they want to go back sa PH education system. Those were our options before finally choosing (as independent) the US accreditation.
Quite frankly, we were not able to use this fully since we still follow the lessons for Filipino subject under the DepEd MELC. We are hoping to completely use this in the next years as we move outside of the PH education system.
@@HomeschoolingVandZ Thank you for prompt reply. We don't follow the Philippine's Homeschool Laws since we are from US. But it's really hard to find Filipino/Tagalog open & go curriculum over here. We are just using it for foreign language. My Mom is going to the Philippines next month and I'm in search for good workbooks/textbooks for my daughter. I don't see many flip through book videos regards filipino language and I'm losing my mind searching online on which to buy LOL.
@@itsjustmephoebe you're welcome po. the Filipino textbooks here have too much info. Balarila that we don't find it useful to our kids. It's also one of the reasons why we are switching out of the PH accreditation and just use Filipino as a foreign language subject. Other homeschoolers prefer to use literature-based teaching for Filipino subject na lang using the dual language storybooks from Adarna publishing.
@@HomeschoolingVandZ Thank you. I'm actually looking at the adarna house bilingual storybooks. They are in my shopping list for sure. And not heavy for my Mom's luggage is a big plus.
You may ask po the admin of Peniel Integrated Christian Academy of Rizal kung paano po set up ninyo if sila po ang kukunin na provider.
