Thanks! It has more push than a standard JB. The A2 magnet broadens the midrange a bit, but it is still there to cut through the mix. I really don't play clean, so I can't answer that one. lol!
@@stevegardiner8473 it really depends on what you wanna do. I found these particular profiles to be way too dark for a live use. They got lost in the mix. If you’re just jamming around the house, they sound great. Your mileage may vary.
@@BradRocker it is the LTD JM-II Josh Middleton sig model. It is a great playing and sounding guitar. Probably my favorite guitar that isn’t a Les Paul.
It is one of his performances called MB Britt Basic. It come with his 2020 pack. I basically ran through all of the preset in that performance. The only thing I adjusted was the delays on the gainier presets.
I know this is an old clip now but it's still such a good example of how this pickup sounds, and what kind of sound it excels with. It's frustrating how many vids of "pickup comparisons" there are using plugins and modellers that just don't give you a real idea of the sound and feel of things. I'd also like to hear this in a super-strat type guitar with the same amp for a really scorching hard rock lead tone. I think it might work well in an Ibanez RG because the soft basswood body would counteract the slightly hard/sharp edge this pickup tends to have (which can be a bit unforgiving)
@@JoelDucote cost a little more. I thought that color you have was exclusive to it. I actually just ordered one in Olympic white with the same pickups.
Thanks! I try not to use boosts for any of my demos. I really just want to capture the pickup and the amp. Compared to the Rebel Yells, the Mules don't hit the front of the amp as hard. So that would probably be more boost friendly for a wider range of tone.
That's the exact same guitar as mine, and I'm thinking about putting in a TB. Hoping this thread isn't too old that maybe I could pick your brain a bit? One thing I'll ask now is there is a 50mm and a 53mm.....but my pup is 63mm? Which one did you get that fits straight away?
One of my favorite pickups ever, this video showcases their character very well: balanced sounding with nice mid bark and “spongy” feel under the fingers
Hello Joel, so my 1998 Gibson Les Paul Special P-100 is the first Gibson I've ever had and the only Gibson I have right now and all my other electric guitars are humbucker or humbucker and single coil equipped and for a while now, I've been debating on getting Gibson P-90's bridge & neck and swapping out the GraphTech saddles for new Gibson saddles? Years ago, I had all the pots changed from factory 300k to Gibson 500k, Grover 135C tuners, used Dimarzio p90 super distortion in the bridge and stock Gibson p100 in the neck. Playing rock/classic rock/hair metal covers in a cover band tuned to standard E. What's you thoughts o the Mojotone '56 Silent Coil P90 Set for my Gibson?
@@keithbell4528 IMO, the Mojo Tone retains the grittiness of a good P90. Just without the hum. I have really enjoyed this pickup. Sits well in a band mix. If you need 100% P90 tone, then a real set of P90s would probably work better. It I’d say these are 95% and don’t suffer from noise on a lighted stage.
Been looking at FM3, like the way the Kemper sounds - which Kemper unit will support the MBritt profiles? Which Kemper are you using here - sorry for all the questions.
I just put these same Pickups in my R8,Yeah I’m probably going to get some crap for doing it from all the purist I’m not a fan of the custom buckers, especially when using high gain amps, The Slash 2.0 Seymour Duncan’s are killer pickups.
Appreciate your videos. Looks like you have tried other pickups in your guitar like Fat 60’s, V60LP, etc. What is your current favorite and why? Thanks!
At the moment, I and really digging the Suhr Asatobucker at a little over 9k. That and the Slash 2.0 are fantastic. They both clean up really well and sound killer with higher gain.
It will work on any guitar with wider spacing. So traditional strat bridges, Gotoh 510 bridges. Some of the new Gibson guitars are coming with wider spacing as well.
If the amp is up very loud, and you stand directly in front of it and face the speakers, then the neck pickup will give a little whistle. Otherwise I have had no issues with them. I have gigged with them for years and they have been just fine.
@@JoelDucote Thank you for your reply. I've read different stories about them. Some squeal like a pig, others are like yours; quiet. You'd expect stricter quality control from Seymour Duncan... Cheers
