@@LeonieHallKeepClimbing pay secrecy isn't illegal under human rights law I don't think unfortunately, I think it would be jurisdictional civil rights law and I'm not certain South Africa has that?
Two questions please! Is Linklaters upfront about pay when recruiting or do they subscribe to information asymmetry (secrecy)? Does Linklaters request payslips from job applicants?

Hi Sabesh, i think you might be wrong. She got in not because she went to Oxford but because she made a great application and she was able to ace the assessment centers and get things right. I believe Linklaters recruit from all university and they also have a diverse and inclusive culture. This is what motivates me everyday to apply for their Vac scheme and TC and i hope to make a great application one day to the firm.

Unfortunately you share the same desires as most jobseekers and create a barrier by believing outdated and destructive firms -often established on the ability to drive wages down, particularly for Black folk and women -can teach you anything about being 'market-courageous' for your future. Carefully consider the type of firms you would like to contribute to, research those establishing enduring and prosperous relationships with Black people. Unfortunately I deal mostly with those who deface human rights and use other's misery to profit. Find a Black owned firm as hungry yourself. If you wish to operate in law and human resources please be sure you know the term scaring all old law firms etc into a paralyzed silence: Monopsony Power - very illegal! I must also point out that whatever pay you agree to start at now, will become the one to establish the baseline for your future wage trajectory. Please be careful!
I am a 16yo student from Amsterdam and have always been an economic man, but lately I've been trying to taste the law life and figuring a way to combine my natural ability in Economics with my convincing and clear speaking abilitie's (won many debate prizes while I travelled all over Europe and will go to Slovenia in May after another succeaful tournament 😁). I am also participating in an International Program at school and will have my cambridge proficiency next year (already have my FCE). Tbh I first came in touch with Linklaters after finding out it's the best paying lawfirm Hehe, but after some research I am really thrilled to work there one day. Do you have any suggestions on what to study? A bachelor that combines Economics with Law for EG.
