This is hilarious considering the new ad campaign they just did; telling all those RU-vidrs to say the game is "completely different" and "improved and fixed" in 2024.
It definitely is possible to play the entire game solo, whether it's "worth it" is up to your expectations for a game, if you're on pc steam has a free demo available, not sure about consoles but would be worth checking out if those have demos available
Good vid, there are a bunch of autobattlers for you to try! Maybe Hearthstone BG would be your thing. The last flame seems cool, gotta give it a shot, thank you
you know a game is really terrible when you can't even complete it... What pisses me off the most about this game, are the perfect reviews from those RU-vidrs and streamers who have no problem sitting through ONE level for 8 hours straight.
I agree with mostly all of your points. Just getting it more structured and less random stuff inbetween your points would be good next time. It's kinda interesting going back to videos like this, now that the DLC dropped and many seem to finally gotten the memo, that this game is not really that great.
Nice review crazyman. When I played Elden Ring I just didn't get why it felt like I was hitting enemies with a pencil even on a strength build at level 80. It was weird.
As a Muslim, I died when you called Radahn RAMADHAN 💀 Beat the whole game, agree with u 100%, Castlevania 2 level of cryptic shit. It's not the 80s anymore to make me buy a Nintendo Power. No log for sidequests, the recycling of ennemies is UNBELIEVABLE for a game that only focus is on combat. And the combat in and of itself isn't like DmC/Bayonetta/Ninja Gaiden kinda combat. It's dodge roll simulator like the VERY FIRST Dark Souls all over again...
"If you had a bug in a game in 2003 you were fucked" The difference was, they actually FINISHED games in 2003 and tested them WAY more and actually fucking TRIED. The crutch of being able to patch things has caused modern devs to be lazy and release unfinished games. It's not an excuse. Notice how there weren't really any "Game-breaking bugs" in older, good games. There'd be a random one from time to time like BxR In Halo 2, but those weren't game-breaking. The games that people loved from back then wouldn't have more than a few minor exploits that just became part of the meta. (wave-dashing in Smash Bros Melee, etc)
I think i have the same sentiment about the game. It doesn't do anything wrong and rationally thinking about it, it's great. But somehow it's missing character / worldbuilding and i don't want to word it so harsh, but it feels a bit generic. I also rather prefer DLC like Grim Dawn has instead of MTX. It gives you a more clear boundary of paying and knowing that you get a complete game. With MTX shops i feel like theres always an incentive for the developer to keep dangling a new shiny something in front of you to buy. But great review either way :) I'm also not reaaally a ARPG person i think. The gameplay loop is often only 3 seconds long and you repeat that the whole time. But sometimes it's nice to turn your brain off
Honestly only two things that bother me is to much emphasis on elemental crap and getting rid of super awesome special weapons or armor like the shield weaver when I found put it was some lame ass ability that doesn't even last until it's broken......bullshit
Man thank youuuu its exactly that!!!! I played through Sekiro - super nice gameeee only thing I could complain is a couple of bosses got recycled...but thats it! Elden Ring....no storyline, dont come with lore people...dungeons etc are repetitive as fuckkkk, after the capital the game just becomes exhausting and dullllll, the quests seem mostly trivial, the items are 95% random as fuck....puuuuhhh......its not a bad game dont get me wrong but its jsut not that good....looks good, good fighting mechanic, some really good parts but in total I give its a 7/10
This game is a technical nigtmare. It's plagued with stuttering on both PC and current gen consoles. I would be more forgiving of the performance issues if it was some cutting edge graphical of mechanical showcase, but it's just a copy-paste of Dark Souls.
Personally, the 3 DLC provided a lot of value for my discounted 23 CAD. I wish some bosses were toned down on NG difficulty, give paying clients a chance (Yuan Shu WTH)!
If you compare Skyrim to Morrowind and Elden Ring to Dark Souls there is some similarities in that the newer games are both more accessible and have a larger audience. But it's def not the new skyrim just bc it's a popular open world fantasy RPG. Also, some people do like playing vanilla skyrim or just with a few core mods like bug fixes and graphics overhauls. And I have installed both gameplay and graphics mods in Dark Souls and Elden ring, but I agree that most of the time Skyrim is modded and Dark souls isn't.
