I have a 1 and a half year old chow and cannot find a groomer. Planning to do it myself, but she is a very nervous girl. How can I get her used to this? I do brush her lots, keeping away the "horns" behind the ears. I just want to be able to trim her a bit for tidying. She does not like her paws held, especially the back ones. Your girl is so behaved!
Incredible video! Keep them coming! It’s so discouraging to see all these irresponsible breeders producing these “rare colors” in any breed. I grew up with chows and I hope this breed doesn’t get completely ruined for the sake of pride and money.
@@ampungi1 They are not like other dogs. They have 2 more teeth and a blue tongue. They behave more like a cat. They don't lick and seldom cuddle. My chow will show affection by sitting next to me, and putting her paw on my shoe. They are the perfect dog for people with allergies, because the dander is under such thick fur. The fur is softer than mink. They are intelligent, independent and stubborn. Grooming is not too bad. Twice a year the under coat falls out, and they shed lumps of fur then. Nature regulates the length of the coat by how often the hair falls out, so short hair dogs shed worse. I brush her about once a month.
