46 years of beach combing is truly living the life, I cannot imagine the enjoyment I would get from living this way, those glass floats are timeless and beautiful
I met John a few months ago at his museum, and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. It isn’t often that you get to see a lifetime of passion & dedication all in one place like that. He’s a great guy, and after chatting with him a while, he gave me a “Sea Heart” from the ocean for good luck. I think everyone should visit his museum if they get the chance. It’s absolutely incredible
“Made in China”….. yep. Like most things. The US doesn’t produce shit and if it does, it uses materials from other countries. Then when it does produce something, it wants stupid money and is often not that great in itself either…….

To me it's like looking through an old tackle box and feeling what that fisherman felt when he was deciding which lure are line ect... are maybe some potted meat and crackers who knows
I wish you were closer I’d be at your place in a heartbeat. I also like to go Beachcombing, and I do it on a smaller scale. Your place is fascinating. 👍 really like some of your tsunami treasures. Incredible
Omg, I love how this guy seems so chill and serious, then all of a sudden he just gets playful and boyish, like when he scared the cameraman with the snake in the bottle, LOL - 6:43
Did you find any big shark teeth, walrus tusks, or whale teeth?? Northwest indigenous Art? Parts of totem poles, fish hooks or spears, carved bowls... anything like that? Great film!
Greetings from the eastern shore of Virginia. I have collected true beach glass for 40 years. Best finds 1723 "glass label" which would have identified your personal bottle and a 6 inch piece of melted lighting sand.
6:56 a lot of the Asians always trying to get that snake mojo, so i hear! i also just used all your footage with my eyeballs and broadcast it in my mind!
"I've fallen and broken ribs and broke my wrist beachcombing, and sprained my ankles, and all kinds of good stuff. I haven't been flown out yet-" Love that across disciplines the height of injury embarrassment is having to be medevacced out by air 😆 You hear similar with high peaks hikers
Loved what he said about every item belonging to or having to do with someone at some point. Someone drank out of the sake bottle, someone was wearing that fishermens helmet... and how that makes it very personal and meaningful to him. I felt that was very powerful and insightful. Great documentary.
Wishing John many treasures! Very interesting finds, I would have liked to have seen his other ‘most strange’ finds along with the snake-in-a-bottle. Very much enjoyed this look into beachcombing! Thank you, John. Thank you Producer.
The Boeing 727's were notoriously dangerous, being the plane design from Boeing with the most crashes in it's lifetime. They probably couldn't even tell you which 727 that came from lol
Dude you should re-evaluate any and all pairs of Nikes that you have, in the last 10 years or so the collectors market for sneakers has just gone crazy, idk what kind of condition any of the pairs are in but there are sold out convention centers in Vegas just for sneakers now people are nuts about them. They are so nuts infact that some of those pairs from the spill might even fetch a premium just because of their uniqueness and one of a kind provenance. Just saying.......cheers from Oregon!
