@@ChristinaRodriguez-f7p oh no! Sorry to hear that - I don't have any experience with our squeezing so I haven't fixed that but maybe you need to tighten some of the bolts that make the drum go around ?
great instruction, I have repaired many different types of washing machines and dryers in the past. I bought this 4 years ago and the heating element was bad. It is always better to see someone who has experience in something I have not worked on before. thanks
I rarely comment, but this video saved hours of time and having someone come out and fix our dryer. I followed this step by step, replaced the heating element and the dryer is working again. There was zero chance of fixing this without having this post. Much appreciated.
@@danthemann The light is sealed or should be sealed already. There will be water in the niche. The conduit you can seal with plumbers putty and use a wet dry vac to suck any water out. But there will probably always be some water in it. At least in mine
I pulled that piece out and the far left fuse is the only one not reading. Should I just replace that fuse or replace that and the thermostat next to it? Only one that doesn’t show any continuity is the far left fuse
@@DadDoItYourself I ended up ordering the fuse and the thermostat, found a pack on Amazon that had both. Should be here tomorrow. Crossing my fingers it works
@chouter21 Yeah there’s a lot more screws than he showed in this video. Even the front panel has 4 screws at the bottom which he didn’t mention. I think this video is more confusing… not sure if he was the one who actually took it apart
I haven’t added comments before, but I had to this time…on of all things…a dryer. I want to first tell you thank you for the great and in-depth walk/talk through. This worked extremely well. Got the part and was able to easily replace it with these instructions. Dryer is working fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to recognize you were likely not the only person with this issue. You likely have saved thousands of dollars for the many viewers of this video. Very much appreciated.
Hmmm.. Ours didn't have that at all - but maybe it was like the heater after being off all year? The first time it smells funny? Try it a couple times and see if it goes away. Personally, the smell doesn't stop, I'd return that part and try a second one.
Hey there - not positive about that as I just did the heating element. Here's the dryer Manuel maybe that will help you www.fix.com/models/dryer/whirlpool/id1204472/wed5100hw1/section8545153/dryer-heating-parts-electric/
Awesome job! Thanks for taking the time to share your upgrade and installation. Your DIY work has made it to Michigan 😎! Funny to see you in a wetsuit in Florida, and what you probably feel is "cold" vs what we experience here in the northern states. ( lol ) Looking to upgrade our old existing 500W halogen T3 double ended bulb with an LED kit. Appreciate you sharing your journey to help others. Especially like your commentary regarding the electrical (drivers, transformers...) thanks again.
So happy this video found you all the way in Michigan, that's where my mom was from - Thanks so much for the feedback Tony! We hope your retrofit goes well! Let us know how it turns out!
@codytaylor1991 can't recall off the top of my head, but here's a link to the manual maybe that will explain which color goes where www.fix.com/models/dryer/whirlpool/id1204472/wed5100hw1/section8545153/dryer-heating-parts-electric/

I had this problem never got it out my husband ended taking the screw off inside the dryer itwas hard the housing never came out still not able to get it out
My heating element went out on the same model number last week. Disassembled, ordered the replacement element from Amazon and reassembled the unit today. This was possible to your video. Thank You, you saved me a lot of frustration and money!!
Thanks for creating this video. I have the same dryer and mine is not heating. So probably I have the same issue. Where did you get your heating element? When you were sliding the heating assembly back into the dryer, could you have connected the sensor wires before putting it back? Thanks
@tomcrutchfield2999 You are welcome. It happens so suddenly! We picked up the element on Amazon for less than $20. As far as putting the heating assembly back, there isn't enough slack in the wires to connect before putting it back in the dryer. Here's where you can find the part: bit.ly/whirlpoolheatingelement
@@DadDoItYourself Thanks for the reply. I had the same issue with my heating coil that you had. My heating element should be here Saturday. Also, ordered from Amazon. I ordered the High Limit Thermostat and Thermal cut-off kit. Thinking I already have done the labor of taking everything apart, so will replace them too.
@@DadDoItYourself I have the new heating coil installed and the wiring hooked up, but having issues getting the heating tube seated into the opening in the rear of dryer. I'm assuming I need to get the flange that is on top of the heating tube to insert into the opening. Or am I wrong and it just snugs up against the opening. Would like your direction on this. Thanks
@@tomcrutchfield2999 yes it is a pain. to get he tube seated back. I installed the bracket to the tube first. Then screw in the holdning bracker and used that and some manipulation to hold the tube tight to the intake duct. I was not sure the prupose of the small tab at the rear of the element tube.(seemed to be in the way) I ended up turning ithe tab down with pliers and was able to get a tight fit. If you find a reason for the tab , id love to hear it for the other veiwers.
