Bro. Story time. I drive for CR England out of AZ. Ive only been driving for about a year and all my experience has been with our Cascadias. I have no problems with the truck, just how theyre set up (governed at 65 when the interstate speed limit is 75). So I got a chance to pick up a 24 Pete 579 from Salt Lake. The truck had been sitting in their lot since July when it was delivered to Oct 1 when I pick it up, so we had to jump it. I didnt start the truck so I dont know if the dude who did performed a safe start or not, but I was told dont shut it down for about 3 hours. So Im headed back to AZ through Utah and Nevada and zi realized quite early on the AC was not working, but I couldnt shut it down, so I kept going. Talked to a buddy of mine who drives the same truck, nothin. Called the company driver support line, nada, called a PETERBILT DEALER . . .zip. By now its 3pm, 100 miles north of Vegas and 110 outside, probably 115 inside the truck, Im sweating bullets so I pull over, googled Peterbilt 579 no ac, your video was the first up so I watched it. Did the steps and . . .son if a bitch that shit worked! Cold ac at last!! Dont know why or how but it works and thats all I care about. Thanks for the vid and unsweating my sweaty ass.
Anytime it doesn't work. Try it very slowly again. Or one time I went to the bathroom and came back to the truck and then did it really slowly. It wouldn't always work on the very first time. Sometimes you really have to give the computer a chance to reset.
Lol i had to laugh.. have a 2021 ultra loft and been struggling with this from time to time and the forums didnt work.. AC fired right up ive been LMFAO for 5 min now 😂😂😂

You got to just say fuck it to every type of stressful shit in the day. They ain't gonna fire you if it ain't your fault. I quit trucking and came back and had extreme anxiety from a breakup those 2 are fucking crippling. I've been taking magnesium and it seems to help. Also don't talk on the phone with people who like to argue and have to be right. They'll fuck up your day. Reach out to as many people who care to get you through it. Go local as soon as possible.

Training for the first time. Didnt realize that the second load was geared tiwards straight teams not super solo for the first 10 days or so. Hopefully doing a decent job. I yhink first 2 weeks should be solo loads.
Communication with my dispatcher was important. Letting him know how I wanted to run, ya know? I'm sure you'll do a fine job. Most of the challenge of doing a fine job is simply wanting to do a fine job.

Do you touch hoses and such? Or is it all done for you by shipper and receiver? I've pulled liquid tankers where I've had to pump off, as well as have it done for me. Also, I have experience with operating pneumatic trailers most recently
I'm scrolling RU-vid looking for the actual difference in pay between company and lease and nobody seems to have an answer lol Most people say lease makes more per year, but nobody can put a number on it. Does lease make 5% than company? Does lease make 3 times as much as company? Nobody knows.
Based on what I found if you go home as much as a company driver you make about the same amount maybe a bit more; the huge money differences I see are from people running teams or constantly running
@@Thestrongestmufasa lower than lease on average but I’m still looking into if it’s for me veteran truckers I know 30+ years have a point with scam thing of depending on them for your money
@@Thestrongestmufasa The info on what others are making is all out there but there’s huge gaps in pay there are lease that are making what you making but with more headaches but they could’ve pissed off the dispatcher no rejecting or accepting right loads it’s a lot

I still don't get it, my log doesn't show after trying to split 3.5 hr driven then sleeper for 4 hrs at receiver clock did not credit me sure wish I was on paper again this sucks
It’s a love hate with this truck the blind spot is terrible worst turning radius I’ve ever driven visibility is the WORST but man now that it’s gone I miss it sooooo much it’s was truly a luxury it was quiet it was economical I had a 525 c13 with a 13 speed YES 525 HP IT WAS A HELL OF A TRUCK. I used to run loads with my dad long haul and sometime we would hang out in his truck for dinner at the trucks stops and my god the difference between his Volvo and my Peter built was night and day it was so roomy and comfortable you could actually stand and change like if you were at home. If you are doing long haul this is the truck for you but if you are local look somewhere else because this trucks isn’t for the ones that don’t like to get out and look the amount of times I had too because I couldn’t see out the mirror is countless and then the window divider had the worst position possible lol I sold it to a guy that took him to Mexico to cross the border and get it to work over there and they absolutely loved it according to him they’ve never had a truck like that one.
