It's the time signal for broadcast, usually broadcasted 1 minute before the channel officially starts broadcasting. It has been used also by Voice of Korea. The music is derived from the first notes from The Song of General Kim Il-sung

Hello, I was wondering if you could share how you got such high quality footage and audio from KCTV? I lived in the DPRK for around a year a while ago, and I miss it so much. Having KCTV would be a great boost of nostalgia. <3

@@samezu5264 Ah, thanks! It's a pity that it isn't streamed on there anymore, as that is such high quality in audio and video. I have been using KCNAWatch's livestreams (which still run today) but they are in much lower quality. Looking over the videos from NicoNico Douga, these are much higher quality. @@Eliotime3000 Wow!!!! I just looked it up and they are broadcasting live in perfect HD quality still under a new Twitch name of kctv_elufa (www.twitch.tv/kctv_elufa)! They also have a website which is a treasure trove of KCTV content here -www.elufa-tv.net/index.html !!!! I can't tell if it is linked to the DPRK government or not but it appears to probably be related to the Japanese Korean diaspora and I would venture to probably say is ran by a Japanese Korean person who holds true to the Northern heritage. This is probably one of the best discoveries ever and I thank you so much for letting me know about this! The quality on this is some of the best I have seen from any KCTV feed, so crazy! Samezu, I think you should go back to doing some music rips :flushed: XDDD! Thanks again, and I will be sure to share this around the DPRK community.
