I just assembled/installed my new Advantage SS-11000-WD lift. It works flawlessly and went together great thanks to your videos. I managed to assemble it myself with the exception of standing up the end assemblies(posts with cross arms) and installing the runways. I had to have my brothers help with those. We are both impressed with the quality of the welds and the fit and finish of the hardware was very good as well. I look forward to many years of service from the lift. Also, is there a way I can get and install the automatic wheel stops on my lift? They were not included with mine. That is a safety feature I would really like to have. Thanks
The automatic wheel stops come with the DX-9000-HD and XLT. The WD would require a wider automatic wheel stop to be manufactured specifically for that lift. Unfortunately, at the moment, there isn't a way to purchase automatic wheel stops through Advantage Lifts. There may be a time in the future where they are produced, if/when the WD gets ALI certified.
I finally have to change the seals on my 1994 vintage BYB lift, so I really appreciate your video. Unfortunately, the cinematography didn't always have the subject matter in frame, so it was impossible to see what you were doing, exactly, but I'll figure it out and go from there. In any event, thanks for your efforts.
I bought a SF10 this spring and installed the towers and getting ready to complete the project. These instructions supplied are the worst instructions ever made for a given product. Much of the information needed for cables and hoses is not in the instructions or incorrect. Why was this ever allowed to be released ? I am a retired quality manger as well as a proof reader of equipment Manuel’s.. extremely disappointed with this. I spent years boosting about AL’s as this is not my first unit. No longer will I recommend your products, my other Lifts all have finish blistering off. My lifts are solely used for storage. Never scratched or dirty. I was told they are powerder coated as well. It’s more like a cheap rattle can finish. I tired buying another 4 post last year at back to the 50’s and stood next to sales reps twice on Saturday and got totally ignored. Rep was literally BS with a none buyer. I intern called Troy in PA in Feb and ordered a SF10. Currently 8-23-24 finalizing installation. Very disappointed. BTW your manuals leave your company wide open for successful law suites for buyers. Jim Hughes.
It all depends on the lift you want. If it's on backorder it could be 6 to 8 weeks. If we have the lift in one of our warehouses already, it would be able to be delivered much more quickly than that!
The instructions for my lift doesn’t go into any kind of detail what so ever. Like the overhead bar, the overhead safety switch, etc. no details at all. It just says mount it to the bar. Well how do you wire it? How do you even mount the bar?? He says in the video it shows detailed instructions.

I've had my Advantage SS-11000-WD in my home shop for over 6 months now and absolutely love it! I am a retired auto technician, and have used every type of lift known to exist over the years, and I can say with total confidence that this is a very well made piece of equipment. I looked at everything on the market before deciding on this make & model, and IMHO you cannot buy a better lift...
Hey there! It really depends on the cars you plan on stacking. The SS-11000-WD needs at least 8'9" to fit in a garage. I'm putting up this lift now and the instructions are still metric. Also at 45 minutes he tells you to wire the overhead switch to the outside posts in the switch, then at 1hour 55 minutes he tells you to wire them to the two center posts. Your 4 post video was great, I knocked it out so easily... the AL-SC10 video isn't bad but so many details missed or edited out, the AL-SF10 video downright sucks.... no talking to let you know what's going on and why, just crappy music for 20 minutes

Hey there! Yes, you are correct, the 12K models are only 2-Stage while our 10Ks are 3-Stage. We will be releasing new models of higher-capacity 2-Posts sometime this year which may have 3-Stage arms.
Just had one delivered by advantage lift and assembled ,I’m just so happy in this day & of scams to be able testify ,that I’m impressed in all aspects way beyond my expectations ! So glad l carefully watched videos on comparisons and overall quality of overall design ,materials craftsmanship and precise metalworking strength . This lift is bedrock solid (no wobbles) and l feel completely safe under it with my 1957 belair 2door hardtop my first car purchased in march of 1968 pushing high up near the 12’ barn ceiling !
I am going to build a house and plan on adding a few lifts. How tall should I make the ceilings, and how thick should my concrete floor be? I plan on having the lifts right next to each other. Thanks.
Hey Kevin! For 4-Posts, it really depends on the cars you plan on stacking, and for 2-Posts, we recommend 12' of ceiling height. I'd say if you build your garage to be at, or more than 12' tall, you'll be just fine. As for concrete thickness, it needs to be a level 5" at 3500 PSI, free from any rebar. Awesome! I grabbed the approximate height of those cars and with our car stacking formula, you'll need 110 inches of ceiling height for both the lift and cars to fit. @advantage_lifts Thank you. I took a screenshot of the comment and saved it. I plan on doing maybe one lift in the center at first, and since they can be moved a second lift to fill the area when I get more cars.
At 4:43 Wayne says "Those pulleys, are they ball bearing? Stacey: "Yes, yes, especially in this application. Some of our lifts have bushings" But Advantage has a video explaining that they use bushings because they think bushings are more durable in this type of use (low speed, high pressure) than ball bearings, and they say not to believe other manufacturers that say ball bearings are better!
the video was very helpful, but had mistakes a that caused backtracking and was frustrating. The manual provided is inadequate and misrepresentative of the materials included in the lift. A more accurate video, a packing list and a better manual is needed. To be clear, the packing list is essential, because I was unaware of missing parts until the time I had set aside for install.

Even though they have a larger footprint it's actually much more convenient than a 2-post footprint since the columns are not as massive there's less wasted width taken up in your garage.
Yes, my 11000 ramps are way over my head at the highest setting, and the cars of course are even higher, too high for even a 7' tall person to work on. But it's nice to have in case you want to park a truck underneath...
Hey there! Sorry it took so long to respond. Hopefully you found a way, but you have to tighten the nut before installing that part. There is no good way to get a wrench down there unless you install it before, or raise the carriage up to be able to get back there.
Hey there, Enzo! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I needed to get an answer to your questions. Yes, you can shim the second size if needed. It really just depends on the tilt or angle of your garage. Shimming both is completely fine, shimming one is completely fine--as long as it's needed.
It really comes down to the Legacy Style Wheels and manufacturing location. The Backyard Buddy Rolling Air Jack can fit old Backyard Buddy lifts with the help of the "L-Channel" style wheels. This jack is also manufactured in Warren, Ohio whereas the Advantage model is produced overseas. All Advantage jacks can now fit the current model of Backyard Buddy. Got my lift and this jack about 2 weeks ago. Both are fantastic. I use Milton high flow V style connections for all my air tools and that makes a nice difference. This raised my hellcat durango in a snap.
