Hibs fan here but my second team is Arbroath because my mum grew uo in Monifieth and went to senior school in Arbroath. Greetings and best wishes from Shanghai
Surely, the calibre of a player and the impact it will have on the team performance is more important than adhering to any specific signing strategy. The question to be asked is "Will the signing strategy improve the team or will it mean that Arbroath just stays in Division 1 or even slips back into Division 2?"
The hybrid set up clearly didn't work for us the last two years. That is why we are reverting back to signing part time players. This will benefit the club and the players as it will improve the togetherness of the club as a whole.
Thank you for everything you have done for Arbroath FC, I very sad to see you go. Please enjoy a long, happy and healthy retirement. On a personal note I only ever wanted one more question! I wish you all the very best.
Pars fan here I was at game I witness Jim McIntyre booted The noticeboard out of Exit door in changing room at half time a female member of staff came out to pick it up Arbroath were 3-0 down it could of been 5-0 down if it wasn’t for woodwork couple good save from there keeper they were far better team in 2nd half they still lost 3-2 ?
It’s always going to be tough for a part time team in the championship, and Arbroath have been punching above their weight for the past few seasons. But sadly I think their time is up, and the first division beckons. We were not at our best on Saturday, but I still reckon we were the better team. Good luck to Arbroath, whatever happens you have done your club proud.
I watched the game on Arbroath TV, and I found some of the comments from the lady Celtic captain laughable. The thistle goal which was well worked was 'Scrappy', the ref never gave a decision all afternoon for Arbroath. He disallowed two goals for offside, and missed a stonewall penalty for handball (conveniently not shown in the highlights). I expect club commentators to be biassed thats fair enough, but her comments went beyond this. I thought although Thistle did not play well, they were worthy winners, and could have scored more. As for the referee, even though he missed the handball in the box, I thought he did well.
