We're a couple of gay Mums, Nina McCann and Claire Sara. We got married in 2021 and we have just had our first baby. On this channel we're sharing our parenting journey as a same sex couple and have been sharing our journey to becoming parents via IVF in the hopes of connecting with other LGBTQIA+ people/families who are on the same path, and the folks who love them. What a beautiful thing to be living in a time and a place where love wins. We look forward to raising our family in an increasingly inclusive world and always doing our very best to lead with love, kindness, compassion and respect.
It’s called a hemangioma. It’s a pretty common type of birth mark. It’s a collection of blood vessels that popped up a few days after she was born but has stopped growing now. Usually the body reabsorbs them by the time they get to around 5. We were pretty concerned when it first popped up but thankfully nothing serious (they can sometimes cause complications but hers won’t) and it doesn’t hurt her. Now it’s hard to imagine her without it! They are sometimes called strawberry birthmarks 🍓🥰
We were told to use our elbows to test water temp, 30 years ago we didn’t have those ducks. I used a smaller bath in our big bath, so lots less water. Both my boys loved baths, except for the first time we did it in the hospital. When I had my first one I was in hospital a week, how things change!
Wow! I was in hospital for a week too but I know that is definitely a lot longer than normal these days. I know people who have been out the same day! 🤯 i feel so lucky to have had all the time and support I got in hospital. So happy Emily is finally enjoying bath time!!
You can actually use them up to about 2 years of course this depends how fast Stella grows. My brother had pretty chunky bubbas so I don’t think it lasted them as long as that. But a good while! I believe they also used it for all 3 kids so it’s definitely built to last.
Nina I’ve been out of touch the past months But I’m beginning to feel better. I just want to say that I was so happy to see this video. You guys make Me and my wife so happy every time I see Emmy God bless you both Owen and Sue
Desde hace tres meses vuestras vidas ya no son las mismas pero por más trabajo, mal dormir, cansancio, temores, y muchos etcéteras más, la felicidad ha escalado a tope, verdad? Desde Argentina, toda la luz para esa bella familia.
You are allowed to ramble. Just know that you can read as much stuff as you want, but you will find your own way of doing things, and that’s ok. It’s good you can support each other and keep talking. I always found that I didn’t have much to talk about when my partner came home as days are mostly the same. You definitely need friends or family to feed off so you have some mental stimulation through the day. If someone comes around, take advantage and nip for a shower or something, make the most of your visitors, they won’t mind having a cuddle. Just know also that you both are doing fine with Emily, she’s obviously thriving, and that’s all that matters for now. My first baby is 30 this month and I still worry if he’s ok lol.
Wow 30! Yes I've heard you just keep on worrying forever haha. I am finding having one reason to get out of the house each day, even if it's just for a walk, is really helpful. Very grateful we're able to support each other :) And grateful for folks like you sharing your experiences with us too!
Both You & Nina Are doing an Awesome job with Emily, Dear Claire. It’s Great that You Realise & can Communicate with Each Other How Much Everything Is Changing & Evolving, Now that You have Gorgeous Little Emily in Your Lives 😊🥰 & That You are Showing Her What a Beautiful, Special, Loving Relationship You Have 😊🥰😘😘
The second baby is much more relaxed, when I had my boys we just had monitors to listen to! I know exactly how you feel though, I just wanted to cuddle constantly! ❤️🏳️🌈
Constant cuddles are my absolute favourite, though they do make it a little tricky to get anything done haha. I’m going to be a wreck when I have to go back to work 😅❤️❤️❤️
