Nice John Paul, I'm looking out for a portable power supply for my tiny pedalboard, this has a lot of power though looks a wee bit chunky for me. I used to have that lekato wireless, I found that it sucked a lot of the tone out compared to a lead so I'd recommend using an EQ pedal to boost where necessary to overcome the tone loss...my lekato wireless unfortunately stopped working after a few months.
Hi John I’m Sam just subscribed and I also have a question about the boss rc600, I have one and I need to use the bass tone for it and play an acoustic electric guitar (Taylor bt2e) and I was wondering is there a way that I could use the poly feature (from the boss oc3) on my boss rc600. Saving me 100 quid. So yeah I hope you reply but thank you and keep up the good content

Great performance! But You can here the huge problem of this looper: It has a big latency while undo/redo. The parts stops and starts not instant. (lag about 0,5ec I think) Thats soooo sad! I got my Looper+ today and after 15minutes I was angry about that! I use the same footswitch like You (FS-6) I used thr RC-1 before and it's MUCH faster in this case. So sad, because i really LOVE the Looper+ The design is cool and the usability so great. But thats a really no go for me!
Let’s just hope that they update that in the firmware. I don’t understand why it has that problem because the head rush leaderboard and the Sheeran looper X don’t have that issue
@@JohnPaulMusicUK They must fix that, otherwise the looper is useless (for me) I play many songs with a single loop and undo/redo is the way to go to get dynamic in a song :) Every 50$ looper makes this better :/ Next problems are: Why can't You stop Track B while Track A continues to play (or vice versa)? Why can't You start a second track (undo/redo, mute/unmute or start/stop) so that the sound plays synchronised with the other loop? In other words, activate it beforehand and only play it when the other loop is at the beginning again. I would be able to choose. That are not really features, that are musthaves for a good and flexible workflow. I hope they will fix that too, because again: I LOVE the concept of this looper! The RC-500 have MUCH more features but I don't want them, it's to complicated for an easy songwriter evening :) Thanks for Your quick answer!
Hi JP, thanks for the review! Was wondering if you had any opinion on the quality of the drum machine? How are the sounds, the patterns? How do they compare against a Boss RC-5 for example? Also, could you please clarify whether the drum track are saved along with the loops, and thus part of the USB-exported audio files ? Thanks!
Yes, it will, but you need something additional. You need Apple’s camera connection adapter which will give you USBA to lightning and then also has a separate port for you to plug your iPad charger into it .
Great question. There are 6 holes pre-drilled at the following heights from the main part of the Desk: 55mm with 705mm clearance (from floor to desk) 75mm with 685mm clearance (how mine was shipped) 85mm with 675mm clearance 105mm with 655mm clearance (where mine is now) 115mm with 645mm clearance 125mm with 635mm clearance The only issue you might come across is that if you put it lower, your knee’s might not fit under it. Hope that helps
I saw that there is a beam near the front of the underside of the desk that shortens the clearance by about 20mm (so the 105mm of clearance would actually be about 85mm) I’m not that tall so I was hoping to possibly drill a lower row to be able to fit a taller keyboard
Hi JL, probably buy one of these soon, but after deep reading all manual for both units, want to ask if the only way to save a recording is bending you back to the floor and press "write" keys. Is there any other way? ( asignable CTRL FS or midi CC or else) for both units?
Great demo and explanation. I don't play piano nor read music. I'm realy a self taught bass player. About 10 yrs ago I bought a Korg Kronos just to dabble around with. Massively awesome instrument but it was way over my head technically. Sold it a couple of years ago. Now I'm getting an itch to dabble around with synth (and analog instrument) sounds again. You have me giving this unit serious consideration. Thank you
That’s good to know. You might wanna see the video I did yesterday. Depends on your budget: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-12ZQSze44XY.htmlsi=ZLUDieyAsXm3tfz1
After my comment above i watch 2 other YT videos...a huge number of comments were complaints about integration setup like downloads that came with these units .but i forgot to check when those vids were posted. On the other hand a web search i read did say the same issues have been addressed. Any info you can offer on that subject woukd help.@@JohnPaulMusicUK
Thanks for answering previous questions - another question. What is the output power (Wattage) - when connected to speakers. (I think we need a amplifier before connecting a speaker but just making sure.)
To compare this to the akai it's kind of like clickbait because if you ever owned one you would know that this guy is over exaggerating I've already read reviews before I even came to this video and they were complaining about so many functions that wasn't on koala but you wouldn't know that if you're not a real musician
Wow! Has it really been a YEAR! My goodness! No. Not a single problem! (JP runs off to touch a big plank of wood! 🪵 🤣) But seriously.. no. It’s worked every time! Even did a gig where I was charging my phone with the USBC at the same time. Perfect. 👌
Is there a way to sequencially travel the entire song (from variation A to D) by just clicking/tapping once the previous variation is done? or do I need to use the full FS 7 to use one control for A-B and the second control for C-D?
At the moment, midi is bpm and tempo only. There is a plan to update it to work with midi pedals.. have a look at the live stream I did with it. Might help: ru-vid.comUxLD_ZADh-k?si=NgByb_6Hna4s519z
@JohnPaul Music UK I’m facing the following challenge: I have a large mixing console, a Yamaha O2R, available to me. Since I prefer using hardware and don’t want to do everything digitally with plugins, I would like to integrate the mixer. However, I can’t easily connect the mixer to my Mac. I also have a rack with devices like a de-esser, reverb, etc. My plan is to route all these devices into the mixer. But how do I connect everything? After that, I would like to route the O2R into an audio interface. I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, which I can use with my Mac. Or would it be better to skip the mixer altogether and handle everything through the interface? Thanks in advance for your help.
Everything is connected, I have my BOSS RC-5 icon on my Mac desktop, and I downloaded the BOSS Tone Studio. My RC-5 says 'updater connected', but my BOSS Tone Studio Connect, Download and Upload buttons are all greyed out and unresponsive. No idea why and no help menu. Very frustrating!
I love my Gigcaster and your tutorials. I haven't been able to figure out how to work the GA-FC. Category, function and mode labels are confusing for this old guy. Other than that the unit is amazing!
There is no reason why it shouldn’t work as it will work with both PC and Mac. Just depends on their UI and if they have dedicated button presses like left and right arrow or up and down, and you can then program the pedal up for that. 👍
I have a Nux mighty space (amp with a USB-C interface) but I don't manage to set it up in Loopy Pro (connection with a USB-C to lightning cable ). The input is always the internal microphone of the Iphone. If anyone can help, I will be grateful 😊
With the lightening cable side you may still need to use the camera adapter as it will need power. A straight lightening to Usbc cable might not do it alone.
