It only occured to me just NOW, almost 20 years after I first played this game why this played for Kagami when you fought her as Tatsumaru. The other times this is used in the game is during the final boss of each respective character, Kagami for Rikimaru, Tatsumaru for Ayame, Jubei for Tatsumaru. Well.. The duel with Kagami on the cliff IS Tatsumaru's final battle. His final battle as Tatsumaru, leader of the Azuma Ninja. After that duel, there is only Seiryu, Lord of the Burning Dawn.
Here in 2023 and I wish Kurt would get together with John Carpenter and do one last Snake Plissken story. From the blackout of 2013 - at the end of Escape from LA. I’m sure there’s a story there…
