You're an amazing teacher! Thank you so much for also highlighting the motor and sensory benefits of music therapy, I didn't think about those before. Will definitely have to incorporate music time this way in my future classroom
This is why I listen to music a lot via an earbud. It really helps me. The problem is when other people force me to listen to music I really don't like(e.g. country western) that definitely does not help.
The number, geometry, and spatial reasoning, science and narrative story telling in this lesson are engaging for children with diverse needs. The expression of emotion through whole body creative movement could be effective for children with trauma because trauma is also held in the body. Grouping and positioning students to minimise peer spectators helps free children to express. Thanks for sharing such a rich teaching experience. This video will stay in my inspiration toolkit.
I'm doing a presentation for my Masters in Counselling on the benefits of DMT for emotional dysregulation in children and this video is so beautiful, informative and inspiring 👌 thank you for sharing
Really appreciate seeing these strategies! Super helpful for an early career educator who has never taught dance before. It's a tough subject to understand when just reading about it!
Agree, so good! I personally am very passionate about having dance as a subject in all schools. Not only for the kids, but also for the educators to explore if they haven't before ;)
