Chris is my uncle ^.^ he was so fun to grow up with. I'm glad you all like his work! He used to let me play in his garage/warehouse of arcade games ^.^
Forgive me for being Captain Obvious but if I'm not mistaken The North Face's logo is modeled after Half Dome, similar to how Quiksilver's logo is modeled after Hokusai's Great Wave off Kanagawa
Nice video! Yosemite in general and Half Dome in particular was much easier to visit when I first spent a month there in 1981: No permits, no waiting in line, just hike up to the shoulder (sleep under a log), climb the classic Robbins route (which was amazing, I'm just glad I wasn't anywhere near when a significant part of it came down some years ago!), and then hike back down and eat a bucket of ice cream. :-) We only saw one other party on the route, in the Zig-Zags just above Big Sandy and just below Thank God Ledge (which is totally amazing!), today both Half Dome and El Cap have long lines of people who want to climb the most popular routes. :-(
"Grade 5 climbing"??? The climbing grade is on a 5 scale, low grades would be around 5.3 to 5.7, Half Dome's pitches are 5.9 - 5.12. Yosemite's climbing grades are much harder than most other places though
I met Chris a few years back, he he one of the few people in North America that can actually repair system 80B boards. He brought my pinball back to life :)
