Just found out about the Shadow Dark system this week. Been addicted to your series. What VTT are you using? The tokens for the characters and monsters have been great!
Plogrina's attack on Bandek should have prevented her from doing the dash action I think, but I don't think it broke the game or anything. Unless I missed something else.
I'll have to admit that once I saw that the last group died with a TPK I didn't watch the whole video, but I skipped to the next group. I'm surprised that the half-orc warrior didn't think of a way to use the silver dagger as a super weapon. I mean, could he have attempted to "give" it to an enemy to cause the damage?
TPK's are very common in Shadowdark. Honestly my players are lasting longer than most Shadowdark parties last from other YT channels I've watched. It's a deadly system. The dagger is designed so that if someone takes it from them, if he willing gives it over it would have no effect. However, if someone where to steal it from him they take the damage. It's not really a super weapon, and more of a anti-theft enchantment. :)
Trailed over here from your movie reaction channel 😁 I just started playing Tabletop games and have become absolutely enthralled - looking forward to seeing your new content!
Shadowdark is a ttrpg ruleset (like dnd). It looks like in the video he is using Foundry VTT (virtual table top) to roll dice and track information for his game as well as using Mythic as an oracle to determine random events.
One comment about your audio: You often rub your hands in a way that is distinctly picked up by the microphone and it creates a sound that I find very hard to listen to with headphones. You might consider a different microphone placement or maybe a low-pass filter could help (but might alter your voice, too).
Well done! Would love to learn more about all that you're doing in Foundry. Any chance you could share the modules that you use? Or maybe a video on how you set up your campaigns? Well done!!
I believe it's just these for Shadowdark: Always HP, ConversationHUD,Dice So Nice!, Dice Tray, Forien's Quest Log, Image Hover, Monk's Active Tile Triggers, PopOut!, Stairways, Status Icon Counters, Tokenizer.
I really like what you're doing here dude! 😎 It's a lot like what I'm trying to do with my channel too! How do you like shadow dark? I haven't tried it yet. You got a sub outta me! 🎉
I think I prefer mythic, I feel like you get a to adjust the likelyhood of something a bit better and the solodark oracle has alot of buts and some twists that seem like they would require more brainstorming and slow you down.
Yeah, Smite is still decent though because the good thing with Spells in Shadowdark there are not Saving Throws or AC's to beat etc. So As long as they cast the spell the target takes the effect. In the case of Smite it's a easy way to do D6 damage at range.
Sorry, I try to edit out as much of that as I can, but some of the players have an open mic. I didn't notice that at the beginning otherwise I would have cut it out in editing. My bad.
Rend has +11 to hit! And I think it's physical but whatever. Epic fight! You are really creative with your questions and interpretations of Mythic. I end up doing too much combat stuff and I want to get a grip of more story type of situations like your previous episode. Much to learn. Great vid!
Thanks! Yeah, as I mentioned, I always treat dragon attacks as magical. To me they are such magical creatures that their attacks should be able to damage things that only magical weapons can attack. Glad you enjoyed.
this was great! not a fan of voice acting in general but the content and the ideas were awesome! I think I will start using Mythic now that you used it, it became real clear how it works and it's benefits. Cheers!
I hope you are enjoying the Shadowdark RPG content. 💬 Comment below with your thoughts on the session and your thoughts on the Shadow Dark RPG. If you want to watch my non-solo adventure with a group of players Click Here ▶ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GyYc-usFpOc.html
Yeeeahh! As soon as I get my Special Edition Unnatural Selection in the mail, I'll be incorporating all that content into my games as well. Keep being awesome Dungeon Damsel!
I hope you enjoy the ShadowDark RPG gamplay. I've recently started playing Solo ShadowDark. If you are interested here is the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-91GWMWNEjZY.html
Fun to watch as I'll be running this soon. Appreciate you posting! One FYI. I think the Minotaur actually gets 3 attacks. 2 with its greataxe and 1 with its horns unless it charges. Probably wouldn't have made a difference though.....
Yeah, that's a house rule. I like the idea of Rangers having to use melee weapons as well, instead of shooting a long bow in melee. That said there are no attacks of opportunity for leaving melee, so they can just move away and shoot. It only really matters if they are jammed in tight somewhere unable to move. :) It doesn't come up much.
Your stream looks great. Always looking at how others set things up. Foundry implementation looks good too. Can't believe how easily the crew dispatched with the Minotaur last episode but it does look like they are maybe 3rd level and you have five players. Keep up the great work!
They were 2nd level at the time and there is only 4 of them. The Protection from Evil spell is why they were able to kill him, it made the Minotaur have disadvantage on attacks. They rolled well too. :)
My first time trying a Solo RPG. I think it went well, of course I see room for improvement.
