I noticed that they recommend changing once a year. I do about a thousand miles a year and I change my oil 2 times a year. Is there a reason why they say once a year or 15000 miles .
Check with Toyota first. Nothing wrong with Amsoil, but I read they wouldn't pay for one of the certifications. It may void your warranty. And you still have to maintain the OCI per Toyota guidelines.
Hello Larry. First and foremost, I use many AMSOIL products and have 100% faith in them. Perhaps You might be able to assist me with conveying a request to the powers that be at AMSOIL regarding the one product that I would like to see some improvement on. That would be the Signature ATF. I’m sure as with all their products , it is superior by far in performance. My total dissatisfaction with it is the totally unnecessary putrid smell. They could have made it smell like lilac or anything somewhat pleasant, even horse manure would be better. I have a nice garage and try to keep it that way. I used this stuff one time on a Highlander I serviced and My garage stunk for a week. I’m not exaggerating, and no I did not spill any. I still have 4 gallons left that I have no use for. As I mentioned, there is no reason they had to make a great product smell like a summertime 5 day bloated road killed deer.
I have an 800 whp supra and I want the best oil, what do you recommend? its a street and strip car, that does mostly long cruises with the odd race in mexico which pushs the engine to the limits of the HP the turbo can feed it.
Harley doesn't recommend amsoil oil to be used in any motorcycle they make. Please stop making it sound like Harley says it's ok to use amsoil. They recommend their oil or diesel oil, no other brand. Sure you can use any oil you want, but it will not in any country on earth, be recommended by Harley. A Harley dealer may even sell amsoil, but that is not a Harley corporate recommendation.,,
Harley corporate will only recommend harley products because they produce and sell it, Amsoil is one of the best oils in the world, are you dumb or someting?
Why hasn’t Amsoil tested the OE and XL against all the major brands? Nothing Amsoil sells is priced well. SS series is also Group 3 now with some PAO’s. Stop BS everyone
First time using Amsoil today have been a Syn3 user until today and will NEVER go back. I will tell you this totally blew all expectations out of the water . Had 45min ride home and was amazed at the difference in shifting and running and cooler engine temps .
I have been using AMSOIL signature in my car since it was new. I now have 140,000 miles on it. I change the oil and filter once a year. The engine runs and sounds like new. It seams to have no loss of power since new, burns no oil and consumes maybe a half quart over 1 year and around 20,000 miles
Definitely well done. I have a 22WRX still under warranty and my 21 Outback XT. I change the oil at least twice a year unless I rack up the mileage to do otherwise. I’m going to try the OE line. I currently use Royal Purple or Mobil 1.
What about the Metric motorcycle oil? Where does it fall within these 3 grades of oil? Do you make all the oils you sell or contract out to other manufacturers and put your name on certain products?
Just decided to give this amsoil signature series a try and see if there's any significant difference and if it's worth the weight. If it is, then you just got another value customer. Just order my first batch today as my suv uses 6 quartz along with the amsoil oil filter.
I own a Bluetec Mercedes E250, I used Amsoil Signature 15w40 and let me share this, my vehicle performs better and quieter, I went to another brand and the engine became louder. Amsoil by far is the Best oil money can buy with the lowest NOACK numbers, something critical for diesels and dpf issues, regarding to soot deposits. Diesels perform better with Amsoil.
Is there anything different between this and the severe gear 75-110? I have been using this in my Harleys for 10+ years. I used Amasil 20-50 in my trans on my street Bob last year and I didnt like it. Shifts were clunky compared to the severe gear.. I have always used amsoil v twin 20-50 in my primary and its great.
What is the percentage of regular oil in all amsoil for gas engine? its a secret!!!! tell the public the facts how much natural from the earth oil is in this product?
ya but how do you order and not get all the crazy flyers? sometimes you just want the product and not your name and an address in a database esp when the company does not know how to manage it.
I use 0w16 OE in my 2024 Camry LE. Will change at 5K. OE perfectly adequate for this engine. Been Lifetime dealer since 1982. Dont see a reason to upgrade if Amsoil eventually upgrades.
One comment i heard too many a time was that why the signature series didnt get MB229.5 approval if its that good whereas AMSOIL euro 5w40 indicate they has that? In anyway, im using signature 0w40 on AMG engine (without MB229.5 approval) Is that ok?
I looked up my 2023 HD Street glide ST and it would not display the VTwin transmission fluid. It only displayed the 20w50 for the transmission. Is the Amsoil v-twin transmission not recommended for the M8?
Hi Larry, For a 2013 LSA (6.2 supercharged) that only gets about 3000 miles of use per year, how often should I change my oil if I am running 5w-30 signature series?
I’m kind of in the same boat. I’ve got a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. I plan on changing my oil every six months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. Here in Minnesota, I just like to keep the moisture out of the engine due to temperature changes. I also tow a small camper on a short leash during the summer.
Saw a oil pour test and amsoil signature series was beat hands down by mobile 1 and pensoil ultra platinum oils. What this tells me is the amsoil takes longer to circulate through the engine during startup. 90 percent of engine wear occurs during startup and especially during sub 0 temperatures. Thanks but no thanks to buying amsoil. It's not all what amsoil zombies think it is?
I guess the question is, what temperature was the oil when it was tested and were all of the oils tested the same weight grade? If they were 30 weight, then they measure between 9ish and 11ish centistokes to be a 30 weight at 212 degrees. One oil could be closer to 9 and another closer to 11 and still be a 30 weight. If the oils were tested at room temp, then it really doesn’t matter which one flowed quicker because all of the will reach the bearings immediately at that temp. What counts is below zero temp f. Mobil 1 5w-30 has a pour point of -33 while signature series 5w-30 has a pour point of -58. The viscosity overlaps there some where and Amsoil continues to flow where Mobil stops.
Hi! Just a curious question. I’m a user of signature series for 2yrs now but can I downgrade from signature series to OE series using the same viscosity? Thanks!
