@@MotoPapa88 I dislike the flat radar plate above the headlight. The black colour makes the radar fit much better. Has the black screen an inpackt on the riders view?
Akra was cool before having to conform to Euro regulations (all it used to take was a screwdriver and 30 seconds, tops, to remove the baffles...). Won't buy another Akra system after my experience with my R1250RS. Isn't much louder than factory, and doesn't meet factory dimensions, so my aftermarket luggage is incompatible (of course you can make the opposite argument there but we'll save that for another day). Akrapovic is a waste of money these days, to be honest. Thanks for firing her up without the exhaust, I'm also a child!
When you disconnected the Vario connections, did it generate any fault codes through the Canbus system that had to be cleared with a GS911, assuming you have one?
Nope. If you don't plan on ever using those Vario cases, just unplug them, wrap the connectors with electrical tape to protect them from elements, and tuck them away. No code errors...
Make sure you keep the lock mechanism clean and lubed with silicone spray (not oil). It can stick and if it does you are going to have to get destructive on it, or if you are lucky and depending on the model, dismantle the base of the bag to get it off.
Just picked up the Shoei GT-Air II Helmet. Never had such a quiet helmet in my life. It came with the Sena that fits in perfect. I actually have to turn the sounds because the music is to loud. The helmet you have with audio don’t find yourself blasting music all the way up to hear the music to compensate for the wind noise? Thank you. I love the Simpson Mod helmet
Shoei's will always be the quietest helmets. They're amazing helmets. But I don't have to turn up the music in any of my helmets with the Cardo JBLs. They are plenty loud.
Directly from Evotech. They'll show in pounds or euros depending on where companies are based outside of the US. It doesn't matter as you get charged/converted in US dollars.
I am getting 20-21 on Highway only when using the adaptive cruise control and speed set to no more than 80 miles per hour. Local mileage is horrible lol no way close to 19 as what Toyota claimed. I want to do the lifting and 35 inches tires as well.
@@Sean-ci6bj Nobody is getting the MPGs Toyota claimed...even on absolutely stock configurations. Realistically, before lifting it and adding F-load Open Country's I was getting around 15 mpgs at best here in SoCal. Most have been reporting the same. Once lifted and the 35s were added, it dropped between 13.5-14. That's the name of the game when you want to beef up a truck. The mileage on Sequoias are notoriously crappy because of it's overall weight. It's a heavy SUV. Even though they're F-loads, they're still lighter than most 35 E-loads out there. Something to think about.
@@MotoPapa88 agreed, especially with the battery added on the 23/24 model, but the performece of this vehicle is way better than any other full size SUV in the market.
@@Sean-ci6bj Correct. There are two types of hybrids. Ones for power. The others for MPG. For Toyota trucks and the likes across other OEMs, hybrids are meant for power, not MPG. Anybody who buys a Sequoia or Tundra hybrid for MPG is buying the wrong tool for the job.
Super sleek from the rear, I wonder if touratech luggage racks will play together with these grab handles..from the look of it , the added trim would need to be deleted?!
I found that once you were on the road and exceeded about 50mph, the suspension would go back up. I found that once I adjusted the dampening and set the position low (press the home button for 1 second) I pulled the fuse (looks like the damper) and I’m permanently set. No more messing with settings. I’m much happier with the bike now.
Love the whole black theme. Those crashbars are so good looking! Good thing you went with the 5'' carpuride, the 7'' obstructs part of motorcycle screen. I'm waiting for the Chigee 5 Play (the non lite version, without all the cameras). The new design fits the BMW holder without sticking out, just as if you were putting your phone directly there. You might want to consider the screen anti theft from Touratech as well (the website "A bike thing" also has an equivalent called Dash Guard). You prob know this but the "non stock" akrapovic header is all black as well in case you want to have an all black version there too. Thanks for sharing all those updates
Thank you. Ya I switched from the H&Bs to the SWs because I liked the sweep on the SWs better. I'm also waiting on the Chigee. I pre-ordered it a while back so hoping it arrives quickly once they're ready. I'm not worried about the anti-theft screen though. Once locked to the dock, it's fine. If someone wants it that bad, take it. I went a different direction with the exhaust and ordered from an Italian exhaust company back in early May...hoping it will be ready around beginning of July to ship out and I'll do a video on it. Cheers!
Does the DBK telelver guard work on the the 1250 as well? I am not seeing any for the 1250 online. The bike looks great, you did very well with this build. Here's to hoping you keep it instead of selling it off for the M1000 XR. I get the power and sexiness of the carbon stuff on the M's but I find that class of bike so odd, it's a hyper naked sports tourer, what an odd grouping of four different classes, mad weird IMHO.
Not sure if it does or not... I'll have to keep it now since there are no more MXRs out there to grab. The reason I like it is because it's in a class of it's own but its really beemer's answer to the Multistrada RS.
Awesome! I bought the same kit to install to my bike, but haven’t done it yet. My wife is pregnant so I thought I could spice the bike up when she don’t join me in the trips ☺️
Received my W702B today! Mount it on the original BMW bracket, everything worked perfect thanks to your tips and advices. The only concern I have is that it vibrates on the road and with the motorcycle engine. Any recommendations to improve this?
Glad it helped! Unfortunately, I can’t help you on the vibration as mine doesn’t do it. Maybe the weight and size of the 702 puts added stress on the dock and causes it to flex/vibrate more than the 502…
