HIS TECHNIQUE NEEDS SOME MORE REFINEMENT...DRILL LATERALLY MORE BEFORE ROTATING THE SHEATH, NEED TO USE A FINE CHISEL RATHER THAN DISSECTOR TO CHIP OFF THE BONE, ALWAYS BETTER TO SEE THE SAP BEFORE RETRACTING
I’m 66 years old I have an L5 S1 spondylolisthesis with a herniated disc would I be a candidate for this procedure? It’s very interesting to me where you bore through a portion of the vertebral arch rather than cutting all the posterior arch thus maintaining the vast majority of the stability of the vertebral arch. it’s May 26, 2024. I’m shopping for a neurosurgeon who will perform this procedure, creating intervertebral height, improve stability, and decompression of the nerve roots for L-5 S-1. I hope somebody monitors your videos I’m in desperate need, it’s been 12 years since the herniation 24 seven disability not much fun. I’m fully insured existing in NE Utah reach out please
The technique is suitable for most spine procedures, but a qualified spinal surgeon has to decide if it is suitable for your individual case. Due to regulations, we cannot provide surgeon recommendations. However, feel free to contact us at info@riwospine.com with your details. Our US team can then try to connect you with spinal endoscopy specialists in your area, if available. We wish you all the best!

Hello RU-vidrs, I am sharing my story hoping it will help someone. What they don’t tell you in these videos is that endoscopic surgery is NOT covered by health insurance (in the United States). I had to pay $30K for my procedure (May 2024). However it was more than worth it. I had to acquire the funds from my retirement account. Borrow the money if you need, you will be glad you did. Immediately after surgery, I was instantly and fully healed with no recovery time. Nor did I need any pain medication afterwards at all, whatsoever. It was money well spent.
The insurance coverage depends on individual's insurance package. My insurance plan has the coverage. I only paid up to the yearly max out of pocket amount (a few thousands $). I am in California, USA. I had my surgery done just 4 days ago. I am in recovery process which is estimated to be several weeks.

Also: The Dr's who do perform this surgery are very few.. That is because it takes special training. And the Dr's who do perform it in the Central / N. Jersey area ( none in S.Jersey or Phila. Area) none of them accept Medicare. I have contacted five different offices who perform it. I would prefer this type of surgery because I had trouble with scared tissue entrapping nerves now causing constant pain 24/7 after having a previous traditional fusion.
I don't understand. Bone is live tissue, so it will grow back, right? So, sooner or later one should get surgery again... how long does the relief last? I understand it depends by many facrors and varies from person to person... but, still, I'm very curious.
I had my L5-S1 Disk eruptured and had severe Inflammation and paralysis including Foot-drop, operated PELD at the end. I heard(aware) that PELD is operated by Endoscope - but didnt knew that it is likely more inserting a whole metal rod into my side lol. It was spectacle experience tho. Like, you know, i can tell my friends 'hey buddy, have you ever poked your butt by a whole half-meter metal rod? I do!'

Hi, good to hear this news!! I am hoping it will continue to help you long term_An do you guys know if there's a way to stop a bulging disc from turning into a herniated disc and get the gel to suck back in, or is it already too far gone, once bulging? I have a herniated disc and a bulging disc 🤕
Great … I've enjoyed watching that ,, but why did you cut the video in the part of preparation and shifting the Dura and nerve Root medially ,, I wanted also to see the bony decompression if it was necessary. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for your comment. We are pleased that you liked the demonstration. We have summarized the video to highlight the surgery as a whole. Bony decompression was not necessary in this case and was not performed.
The full-endoscopic technique is the least invasive approach in spine surgery. With less scaring and less tissue trauma, there are no reported complications in terms of scaring or tissue trauma. This approach also requires less bone drilling. As long as the bone structure is generally healthy, it will not cause instability.
Had spinal fusion at L5-S1. Ended up in worse shape. As scar tissue from the surgery entrapped the nerves. Ended up in constant pain 24/7, as opposed to pain when on my feet for four or more hours. Beware of fusions.
Depending on the cause of the sciatica pain, in some cases, such as spinal stenosis or herniated disc, a full-endoscopic procedure can be performed to reduce the symptoms.
will this affect me im 16 still growing will this affect ive failed meds finna go fet steriod injection and if that does not work ill get this what are the affect of theis on your disk will it take some of you disk off
Unbelievable educational video Professor thank you I am a Scottish disabled war veteran with the same problems. Hoping to have something done in the near future at the Queen Elizabeth Glasgow 👍🏴
hello doctor, I also have a question for you, how long does the pain last after this procedure? and can the disk be regenerated to be the same as before?
Normally patient is walking few hours after being operated. Very often without painkillers. Fast recovery is one of the crucial benefit of endoscopic spine operation.
I just had my surgery. Before this i cant walk or sit. Cant even have a proper meal. It was like a nightmare. After the surgery, i can walk the next day. And sit normally. Im so glad i made the right decision. But ofcos i wear the lumbar back support. Helps alot!
@@vosisile4252 my surgery went smoothly. At first i was scared to go for surgery. But the pain is too much. Now i am 1 month after surgery. Everything is normal. But please wear lumbar back support after the surgery. It helps alot!
I was operated 4 weeks ago through this endoscopic procedure and I have back pain when I stand for a long time, I am 21 years old and I had to do the operation because I had a pinched nerve for a very long time, please if you can give me an opinion if I will be able to have a life like before the operation, I am very upset and demoralized
Thank you for the clear instructional video. I just completed a successful herniated disc surgery on my dad. It wasn’t this fast and clean, but it did save him $60k. No insurance sucks.
wow...I had a bilateral procedure done yesterday, now I have some idea of what they have done. thanks for sharing. You clearly are magicians in your trade, helping people to walk again.
Endoscopic spine surgery is one of the lowest post-operative complications number. Please contact your endoscopic spine surgeon for clarify all doubts.
