Don’t waste your money. The rooms are dirty, filled with bugs (roaches, mosquitoes and flies), there’s mold in the bathroom, beds, chairs, and sofa. The main pool is murky and disgusting. Horrible place! I don’t recommend.
Im really sorry you had such a bad experience. I kinda agree with the main pool being a bummer but we were there off season and when there were not that many people apparently the cleanliness was better because we definitely had a nice clean room.

Moc jsem si prala navstivit tuto botanickou zahradu. Je obrovska a nadherna, i kdyz jsme tam nebyli v dobe kdy toho kvete vic. Pruvodce a vozitko byl uuuuzasny napad.
Food is personal preference - thousand people thousand tastes, but I really really enjoyed the food there - especially the Italian restaurant - the steak with blue cheese sauce was amazing. Maybe because of the price tag people expect lobster and caviar, but it is very solid all inclusive food.

Totally agree with the security stuff. I've lived abroad and experienced living in a safe environment for a while. It is something mind blowing. Normal brazilians don't know how it is to live in civilized safe places. The whole "condo" issue provides a false sense of security, for it is the only way to live at a relatively in peace with all the fences and security. The same happens to malls. It is almost impossible (at least in big cities) to have regular street business, so everybody prefers to visit malls for security issues also. Security plays a very relevant role in everyday life in big cities.
I forgot about the malls but that s probably because i don t love them that much 😁. I was little surprised how popular the malls are before I found out it's again about the security. Why is the situation that bad? Can something be done?
@@CurvesOnTheRoad Sure it can! It wouldn't be so hard if politicians really wanted to take action. Imean "true action"! It has been done in the past and it is being done here and there in a small scale. But the whole fix would anger plenty of powerful people, so I don't think much will be done significantly on the next years. Unfortunately, this is one of the reasons I think brazil is an impossible country to have a civilized life, unless you are willing to live behind bars (your own bars, as you pointed out in your videos), using pretty much safe, secluded havens, only venturing on 10 to 20% of the cities area, or, to live (if you have the personality and can afford) in very small cities in South/Southeast states (with some minor exceptions elsewhere.

To be completely honest with you my idea of ideal active wear are cotton leggings and oversized T-shirt to feel free while moving, so I never pick this part of my wardrobe to be cute but functional. Im sure you can find some active wear in Thailand, but Im not sure about the quality...

Great video overall… just one simple question, I know is an hospitality business but don’t you think if you go to a country that speaks Spanish… you’re the one that somehow should be able to comunícate with them, or should we as a Spanish speakers demand to be taking care of in our language once we visit USA or Europe? Just something to think about.
I love your question, because it's something I have been thinking about a lot. My native language is spoken only by 10 milion people in one little country, so I never had the feeling anyone from outside of my country should speak my language and as a frequent traveler I understood the need of another language- and that's why I learned English and later French and now im learning portuguese... but the sad truth is, you'll never speak all the languages of the countries you want to visit, so picking one language is essential for international communication. If the choice of English was right or fair is a different question, but it somehow happened. I can show my respect to the people whose country I'm visiting by learning "please" thank you " and "hello", but that's all. If a country's economy stands even partially on tourism, the hotels need a few English speakers for tourists to feel welcome and safe. I understand it's not easy to learn a new language, I don't expect every single person I meet to be fluent, but at least at the reception there has to be a single point of contact that will get the message across.
Yes it is very common in countries with weak plumbing system that there is a basket next to the toilet where the paper goes. I still didn't get quite used to that to be honest.

@@goosem4554 We went in November and the seaweed was not too bad, better than in Cancun. The hotel in Santo Domingo had a sign about the toilet paper, airport as well for sure, I simply kept the rule. Enjoy your holidays, you will have a wonderful time.
@CurvesOnTheRoad okay so I joined a fb group for this resort and they are reports of hand foot and mouth disease going around with kids picking it up there. Did you her anything about this when you were there?
We didn't have any kids with us, so I haven't heard anything like that. We had mild diarrhea, but I have that in every seaside location I go to. I would say here it was one of the mildest. There are lots of free roaming animals, not sure where the kids could catch it otherwise
Very informative, 1 question tho the room you stayed in was the platinum suite ? Don't you instantly get platinum benefits or you still have to pay an upgrade (im going in june and i reversed a platinum suite)
We didn't book the platinum suite, it was a normal room without any "special benefits" if you booked platinum suite you will have access to 1 extra pool, 2 other restaurants and probably some more extra perks. Enjoy your stay!
