Car seems to understeer a bit. Wonder if you would of been better off swapping the spring rates around 6kg front 8kg rear. Tried this? Softer front counters understeer.
Wow looks like i've dusted off an old video from 2013? Lol no comments for 2 or more years! You have prob sold this Megane 225 Cup ? I've just bought a 2008 225 Cup and is unmodded and completely original, im wondering what Mod you did resulted in the biggest gain or is it pretty much the same as all Turbo cars, just follow the age old formula and i cant go wrong? Im wondering what sort of power gains the stock Turbo is capable of running or should i get rid of it completely for an aftermarket? Bigger Exhaust, Filter, Boost, Injectors, Maybe ECU upgrade or Re Map to suit, ect... Was there a reason why you dont rev the car out when rowing thru the cogs?? Do these engines no like to rev? OR Possibly a sound discrepancy or glitch in the audio but it sounded like you were short shifting everywhere and making the engine labour its ass off !!! Cheers for the video
Hey buddy, yeah you totally blew the dust off ;D its not a cup, just a standard 225. slightly modded indeed ;D I i still own it btw. just go for the mods you listet packed with a meg3 RS turbo. its good for 300 but i recommend you to change to forged conrods on this level, the OEM ones are weak... if you want to go higher than 320 you have to pick forged pistons and a hybrid turbine. but basically the "old formula" is still the right way to go. i consider you livin in England, so i recommend you RS Tuning Leeds for the Remap. Paul did a great job on mine. im Shiftig at 6k most the time, not because the engine cant handle but theres just no need for reving it higher. torque and Power slightly decrease from this point so better shift and get more torque in the next gear. these turbos are to small to provide enough stream trough full range... Biggest performance gainer was the Quaife LSD i guess, power is nothing without traction ;)
The video is good, the car is awesome but i think that in some parts of the road considering that there was a lot of traffic both you and the megane ahead pushed it a bit too far, specially in some "almost turns" where you were overtaking.
Hallo. Wie ich sehe fährst du seit einigen Jahren schon über 300 PS mit deinem Megane. Musstest du an Getriebe und Kupplung was machen oder sind die der Leistung auf Dauer gewachsen? Werde meinem Megane F1 in Zukunft auch etwas mehr Power verpassen.
Hi! I am a RS225 owner in Taiwan. I watched your video in Nordschleife many times before I had been there @ 2016. I saw that You had H&R and BC suspension kit with your Megane 2 RS225 and BC is stiffer than H&R. Would you please share your experience about this two kits to me? I often drive in mountains and maybe on the track 1 or 2 times per year. Which one will you recommend me to tune with my RS225? Thanks a lot.
Hey dude, in direct comparison i would recommend the BC, H&R is way too soft for track use.. i ordered the BC with even stiffer springrates. the application area of my car is also at Mountains and on Track. The only bad thing i could tell you about the BC is that you have to setup very low on the rear, otherwise you dont have enough negative springway. The damper is a little short here. But if its performace orientated you will setup low anyway.. If you have enough money to spend, take a look at the suspensions produced by a well known Specialist at our Area. I drive a Megane RS265 RB8 and have been on country drives also with a WRX among other cars in the group and we have also filmed, so I know how hard you have to drive for it to seem quick on the video ... and there were quick moments on your video :-). You guys did an awesome job on the filming and you drove well. I enjoyed watching very much. Thanks for the post. And to those people giving you a hard time in the comments I would say this; the road was full of oncoming traffic and yet over the 20min nobody had to take any evasive action. That's experience, not luck.
Great driving! Very smooth and VERY fast. The car seems really well sorted too. And all on such a great circuit. I watch this video from time to time and it doesn't get old!
Quite dangerous driving towards others, congrats... What do you do, if there is a motorcyclist or bicyclist driving on his side of the street at 2:04 or 9:05 for example? Because of a right curve he would be near the mid of the road if driving fast enough and you would just run them over. Seriously, dont take corners blind... And at 14:08 you overestimated yourself are bit, eh Whoever is driving, you or your friend, this behavior does not belong on the street - that's just a arrogant driving style, that sooner or later might end in the death of somebody else. Think about it
dragolix its not as close as you might think, because of the Fisheye Cam... And as the second car its even less dangerous, cause you can see the reactions of the driver in front. So no really dangerous moments at all... And i, the driver of the first car, wasnt cornering blind as you can see ;) Everythings fine and safe, just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery :)
