Nothing needs to be removed for it to open all the way. Check under the back of the lid see if there's something there preventing it from opening vertical
I removed the stock metal nozzle and replaced it with a 3/4 fuel transfer nozzle. I also purchased a brass 3/4 NPT to barb to connect the hose. Makes transferring the oil to smaller containers a lot less messy as you can instantly stop the flow.
That was amazing. Everything you said was spot on. I have the 2003 Envoy XL. Glass hatch does not open as wide so you need a shorter ratchet. Top screw was filled with debris and a bit of rust needing a pick to clean out, side panels just slid out after removing screws. Oh, and by the way needed to remove this as the bolt for the hatch strut snapped off and had to be replaced. Only way to access it was to remove the side trim panel. Thanks
Nice that the sides aren't pre-attached. You could make a little larger platformr protruding from the back with pressure treated wood. That could make a nice platform for a lockable box for a generator, etc.
The parts list instructions for this item is terrible, because they don’t label each part bag with a number, and the illustration provided in the manual is small and blurry.
Could you add a bicycle rack onto the back of this rack? It looks like the receiver tubing runs all the way through to the back but doesn’t have a hole for pine. Could you just add the hole and throw in a bicycle hitch carrier?
I'll have to make a video on how to do that. Theres a rod that connects the handle to the latch. If you drill a hole in the handle you can access the rod and slide it to open the glove box.
