My favorite female Country Artist of the 90's. This album "Don't Fence Me In" was Phenomenal. There was the ridiculous Controversy over the Video to "Wild At Heart" which had been the CMT Pick Hit of the week back in the late Spring early Summer of 1996. Trouble making Radicals that we would probably now call the "Woke Mob" complained that the video that was set in an Asylum was insensitive to mental health patients. Apparently, these goofy people (speaking of mental) had zero sense of humor? Lari made the decision to have the song pulled from the Radio and the Video taken of CMT and TNN. The song was going to be big, it had jumped from Number 41 from 49 the previous week on the Billboard Top 50 Country charts. Cracked the R&R top 40 at Number 39. Alas, she was robbed of a solid hit. This was only the second angle off the album and the first video after "Ready Willing Able" which actually did better in Canada then in the United States came up just shy of the top 10. With a video it probably would have kept going into the top 10. maybe even the Top5. Inexplicably despite there being a ton of potential huge hits on this album, there would be no more singles. Lari within a week or two of pulling the song was dropped by RCA out of the clear blue? What the hell happened? This seemed almost like a rinse and repeat of what had happened to Holly Dunn back in 1991 with the absurd "Date Rape" inducing claims that were made. She pulled the song and Video. CMT Pick Hit. Her highest debuting single ever. That song would have been big for Holly. She never got much radio airplay again and was dropped by Warner Brothers after her fantastic new album in 1992 "Getting It Dunn" was completely snubbed for airplay. I thought this can't happen again, but it did. Lari was well on the way to becoming one of the biggest female Stars in Country Music when RCA suddenly kicked her to the curb. I was so ticked off. I was a huge Holly Dunn fan, then I fell in Love with Lari and both were dropped for no apparent reason. That really was devastating to Lari's momentum, and it took her about 18 months to get a new recording contract with Lyric Street. Then that brand new label owned by Disney totally dropped the ball for Lari as well. Man, I was so frustrated. So much incredible material and huge hit songs that never saw the light of day. Bottom line she should have never been dropped by RCA in the first place.
Thanks baby for the beautiful song.i think this is like I said a beautiful song and also it is a beautiful song to dance to so when you come and find me we will have to see to it that we spin one anither around the dance floor and enjoy it together and you hold me in your arms and we at last dance a whole dance together not like we dance before for a couple of seconds .we will want to enjoy the moment with one another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤

This is seriously, seriously a very underrated not played enough song. Yes I understand it’s extremely sad, but it’s real life. It happens. There’s happy and then there’s sad like this song. It’s very hard to leave and say goodbye. I think about her every single day. She was the one. But nothing is guaranteed. So if you are lucky enough to be with your significant other or soulmate, seriously, seriously treasure it, and treat it very nicely, and with respect. 🙏
I lived it for 6 years. I remember the hurt and the anger that clouded my days and overshadowed my nights. I no longer live like that. Now I am free and in a better place. It was hell to get thru. But, I made it.
The Lyrics: There you go falling in love again This time it's for real But you ain't going nowhere, you ain't already been It is like the way it feels I can get down on my knees and beg you, baby But I ain't got a prayer So go on and go And see if I care See if I care See if I'll be there See if I'll be around when he puts you down To pick you up See if it's really love See what he's made of Go on and go And see if I care Girl, you found love that makes you feel brand new You think I'm not enough But when he gets old what are you gonna do When that new wears off? You'll be smiling and dialing my number To see if I'm still there Give me a call And see if I care See if I care See if I'll be there See if I'll be around when he puts you down To pick you up See if it's really love See what he's made of Go on and go And see if I care Oh, give me a call And see if I care
