I got the part numbers off a site called Partsouq then went to my local Toyota dealer and ordered the parts through them or else you’ll be paying for heaps of money for shipping. Should be around $1100aud for a pair don’t if the price has gone up
This is an old video so you might not answer but did you ever get a metal grinding type sound with the clutch pushed in? I seen it on a couple cars and heard this is a common issue for r154 swap on 1jz. I ask because it’s doing it on a car I’m looking at buying
It sounds like it’s either got a twin plate clutch in it which is normal or either the spigot bearing, thrust bearing or input shaft bearing on the trans is damaged.
They’ve been great no complaints and put them through a lot of abuse, I would recommend if you’re running it low to shorten your up rights so you don’t wear out your ball joints quickly, I haven’t had that problem yet but I’m probably not far off it
I think I wired the reverse switch on the box to the red/blue and red/black wires on the auto plug if I can remember, if you really want to check it before you pull the auto out you can put ignition on and put it in reverse and use a test light on those wires
I’m the video I was running 17x8 +35 with a 35mm spacer, now I’m currently running 18x9 +38 with a 35mm spacer, you won’t have an issue with clearance unless you have a front brake upgrade
@@jimmysworks8105 I have the car at 2.4 deg camber on front with no spacer and stock brakes. the front fender is rolled flat but it rubs on the edge of the tyre i use (michelin pilot sport 5) and i was thinking if i can add maybe 1 or 2 deg more camber with an adjustable uca cus the camber bolt will mess up the caster if i add more camber with it. cus it rubs like a bitch atm.
Hey man , cool video. This video has helped me but I just want to know, How have to wired up the reverse sensor and the speedometer. I’m about to start my wiring and wondering what you used to wire it up mate?😎
No worries man that’s awesome to hear! For the reverse switch I used the red wire with blue trace and red wire with black trace on the auto trans main plug and connected the reverse switch to those and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter which way it is wired but check when you do. For the speedometer I didn’t wire it as the wheel speed sensors are still able to run the speedometer
Cheers man I appreciate the love! I epoxyed them as sometimes when you use the tool on fibreglass it can crack the fibreglass so I don’t use the tool on rivnuts on fibreglass
@@jimmysworks8105 cheers man that’s what I was thinking the tool might be too much for the fibreglass, I have to do mine soon too. I reckon bring back the guy who sits in your car and stares at you giving you the bird when you work on it 😅
@@Jay-de8pe Yeah fibreglass is one of those tricky things to work with when it comes to that. Oh nice man what kit did you get? Hahaha I’ll see if I can get him around 😂
Bro I absolutely love these style of videos, Can sit and watch people do shit like this for hours, Do more I'm legit fanboying right now jimbo lmao, much love man.
Haha thanks man I appreciate the love so much! I try to do my best but sometimes it’s too hard to film everything especially when you work 6 days a week. But I hope you enjoyed me wearing different clothing every clip 😂
@@jimmysworks8105 bahahaha don't stress bro the content is good, just keep throwing out whatever content you want as long as you're enjoying it, it's progress to look back at the steed haha
Hey bro, I've watched this at least 20 times in full lol. Had a question.. when removing the automatic transmission cooling lines, did you have to cap it off from the radiator? Or essentially, where did those lines run to and did you need to cap anything off?
You can cap them off at the radiator but I ended up replacing my radiator so i didn’t do it. Sorry but I was having troubles with my phone when removing the cooler lines, but they’re super easy to take out you just follow them along and remove all the P clamps and when removing the cooler lines you just cut off the bits that get stuck and throw the cooler lines in the bin
