Sharing our journey to have a life full of magic and creativity. My name is VR (Val) Janis and my daughter is J Janis. We are Anishinaabe artists and authors. We aim to share little known aspects of our rich culture through storytelling and inspire others through our art of magical creatures. On this channel, you’ll find us sharing stories, lore, facts, language, and art in our quest to gather knowledge on the Mythological, Supernatural, Paranormal and Fantasy found in lore and cloaked stories told around campfires around the world. We share our advice and knowledge to break the myths around running an art business, being artists and authors, and how we use bullet journals to stay organized in our business. You are very welcome to our channel! ♥ We hope you will enjoy our videos! ♥ Chi-meegwetch - Woplia Tanka ( Big Thank you) for watching our channel.
Super creative--I'd love to see some of the insides or layouts that show how you used these items. It's definitely possible to spend all of your money on planner supplies, but I love how you are showing that it is equally possible to prepare a planner you love without spending a ton of money. Also I didn't know about the punch you have--I have the Happy Planner punch that is a full sheet of paper (the 8.5 x 11 printer paper, as it is what is in my daily work log)--which could be super useful for smaller papers.
Thank you - I plan on setting up my planner with the items for next quarter and next year and will definitely share those layouts. That punch was a great investment especially since I am making my own dashboard/separators which are too thick for the full sheet punch ( I messed up a few pages). I found it on Amazon - we r memory keepers crop-a- dile punch.
@@inkedscroll I unfortunately don't travel but I take my notebook everytime I'm in the car it's a 4 in x 6 inch pen gear notebook I would love to have something just a tad bit bigger
@shawnandlisamason9533 - the one in the video is a 7 × 9. I have found this a great size for me and I can make it an all-in-one. I used to use a 5 x 7 journal. I think 4 x 6 is a good size but I just bought a bigger purse lol
@@inkedscroll with my back and hip my husband doesn't want me carrying medium or large bags I love a good purse though. Thank you for the sizes of the notebooks I to love an all in one I have have made a what works and what doesn't page to see what I really need. Thank you so much for communicating with me I do appreciate it
@shawnandlisamason9533 - I understand about the hip and back - we joke that I carry a fifty-pound bag. I think having the ability to adjust and pull pages is why I like the disc-bound planner and it can be adjusted to any size planner. If the pages are not working I pull them. Thank you for watching my videos and connecting with me.
1 1/2 metal rings - I got them at Micheal's during one of their happy planner discount sales. It was one of the best investments in my planner journey.
I love this idea and am really interested in doing it myself. I do have a question though. Why are you gluing pages together in the middle of the notebooks? Is it so that they stay together? And do you glue the pages where the two notebooks meet? Thank you.
Hi, I am glad I was able to give you inspiration for your own journal. I glued the pages in the middle to connect the two books and give it a little more support in the middle so it does not split apart or weaken the spine with both books pulling separately. I was also trying a method to make the pages thicker and have less bleed through.
regardless of the format, your journals are beautiful. I dont get a sense that they are overwhelming...it is just you coming out on the page. Beautiful!
This was interesting:) I have a question; How do you use your decoration in your monthly plan? Do you, for example, use stickers to mark where something will happen that you are looking forward to/r excited about, Or do you use stickers where there are empty space or maybe some free time/holiday time that you are looking forward to? Oh, and one more thing: I seem to remember that you had such a gr8 system in one of your earlier episodes, about your house- chores. a system for tasks to be done like daily, weekly, every other week, and so on. Can't you get that into your new BJ? Love your videos! <3
I will answer your question in my next video but I use thin washi for events and stickers for important days. It is funny you mention the chore list because I was thinking of bringing it back. Thanks for being a part of our community.
I love the Pokemon theme! You and J drew so beautifully the little lovely creatures. I´m glad to see that everything turned out so well in the end, even when you had such a rough start. Thanks for sharing!
Suggestions for 23 in 23: Walk/ ride bike to work Depending on work: 23 projects with 23 ppl or same person 23 lunch mix 23 different lunch places/ activities
Those are great suggestions, thank you. I don't think I could add walk/bike to work as it is about 20 20-minute drive one way, but I definitely like the projects and lunch ideals, especially for a work 23 in 23.
What a clever idea! I don’t know about the current Hobonichis but I was gifted one maybe 5 years ago & didn’t like the weight of the book, plus my gel pens smeared on the paper. Love the new idea to combine two composition books!
