Hi Mark. Few questions I have here? How is this smart part numbering different from the traditional part numbering which uses the number generator and object generator? In terms of performance which one is working faster? Also, I saw you selecting range values for creating parts in particular series which had integers like 1,2,3 and so on. If needed can we configure this range values as string? Or combination of number and String in case if needed?
For the Smart/Inteligent part numbering various different number formats can be supported. For instance, you can pick different prefixes and use the prefix concatenated to a counter to generate a PN. Per OOTB functionality only one prefix and counter is supported.

I love these videos, but I'm puzzled where to start. I do not have permission at my organization to use the Data Setup app. I can get access if needed, but what I would like to do is extend features of 3dx or create custom apps (adhoc solutions). Where would you recommend I start? I prefer C#, but will happily learn any language. So far I have only made external programs that take over input devices and force 3DX to do what I need it to. I'm looking for internal methods of coding. The less system rights needed the better, but I can request these rights as well. Thank you for any help.
