i got a 2013 r spec from a salvage auction drove it 20 miles and it was pushing smoke out, replaced radiator so far, got a fan sensor since fan wasnt running, but its finally gunna be tested tested, this weekend and hopefully back on the road but i like seeing the genesis content
@@ImTrip_ damn smoke ain't no good! I feel you mane! It's all good though as long as the motor isn't knocking you should be able to fix it. Check out those plugs and replace them along with the coil packs. The injectors possibly could need a cleaning or replacement if it's misfiring. Llastly do the ECU and if that doesn't work then try the injector module. The injector module is like $50 and can also go bad on these cars. Start with the tune up and go from there. The ECU was causing my codes to read all over the place so it was definitely worth it and you'll have an idea once you plug in your scanner. You got this 👍🏿
Bro…. I have a black 2012 as well which I’ve had for five years now and still love it every day. But that’s definitely not a stock exhaust that you have, at least it doesn’t sound like it from the video. It sounds great! What exhaust system do you have?
My wife and I own a 2012 and a 2014 R-Spec’s, and yes, they are awesome daily drivers and so fun to drive. The first gear on the 8-Speed transmission, will not only knock you into the backseat, but it will quickly humble little boys that have V8 engines that think they are unbeatable!
New subscriber here. Those were some pretty unique vehicles they had there; I didn't even know about some of them, so thank you for sharing with us! 🙂👍
@@adriangonzalez1322 @adriangonzalez1322 yeah getting some new injectors installed as we speak should be up and running with content soon. Got coilovers, 85mm TB, trans temp gauge, etc. Once this is back up the car will be moving. I've got this and the Miata I'm working to boost as we speak. 👌🏿💯 Stay tuned brudda 😎
Hey thanks a lot for your kind comments. I love the car and I'm glad you do too. I'm currently working on the car right now, I have a few cars so it's a lot of work right now. You can get a normal one and send it to a shop to get ported to 85mm, I haven't installed that yet though, it will be installed next with the coilovers and a trans oil gauge.
Is that an actual R-Spec? I don’t think they offered tan leather on the R-Spec it was black only also the wheels are stock Geni wheels and the headlights are chrome backed but the R-Spec were black backed. Not trying to break balls just actually very curious if tan leather was offered because I have an R-Spec with black and would really prefer the tan
@@ajbimg Sorry lol, should have been more specific. I drive the same car so I’m looking into modifying. I’ve only seen one rear spoiler ever advertised for this car so I’m just wondering if that is the same one as on the internet.
@@topdollarmobile7460 sorry brudda for the late reply I think my ECU got fried that's why I haven't uploaded content on the car in a while. Give me a little more time and I'll be back. You can get any trans cooler off eBay just have it installed correctly. As far as the TB, u can get a stock one and have it ported to 85mm
@@JWard2 nothing just replacing the injectors and building my Miata. I have two cars I'm working to build up right now it's been a while collecting parts, buying a house, etc. life happens but the cars will be done very soon
Yo wats good man, hell yeah so far so good I can't complain. 33K miles is mint barely even broken in yet. Make sure ur not overpaying though. How much did you get it for? I paid $10k for mines with 85k miles fyi.
It depends really on your budget man but yeah I would say that is a bit overpriced definitely, try to haggle him down to like 14-15 and stay firm. Assuming you buy it at 15 and the motor doesn't fry on you, you'll be able to easily sell it for close to the same price even with like 80k miles on it.
@@ajbimg I want it but he said it's in like excellent condition, never eaten in, never smoked in, garage kept. I told him there's still lots of wear in all the time it's been sitting you know
