There was no record of Arthur and Catherine consummating the marriage. Since Arthur was the oldest male child, he would have received more attention than his brother- Henry.
Let me make this clear. Deuteronomy 25:5-10 focus on the a widow marrying the brother-in-law- the exception to Leviticus 20:21. It is an obligation for a widow to marry the brother-in-law as long as the widow and her deceased husband were childless- wanting to have children but have none. If the brother-in-law does not marry the widow of his deceased brother, then he would suffer public disgrace. Henry VIII would have been further humiliated if he had not married Catherine.
Yeah, I get that Catherine probably lusted or fall deeply in love with Henry VIII after being a widow, but in real life, Henry was 10 years old and she was 16 years old when Arthur died. Catherine was waiting and struggling to keep herself remained in England until she wins Henry's favor again to be married to the next king. But I am curious was it worth being queen despite the bad aftermath of failing to produce the heir that the cause of England being thrown over her divorce and religion.
@@johnhenry4844 well, maybe she lied who knows! I love this show that doesn't present her as innocent as people think. I hated that Anne Boleyn called " a whore" and maneater when Catherine was not a saint right?!
@@missdollycollector9687also it was strange enough that she used a passage from the bible that had no doubt confirmed what Henry had feared. She wasn't a true wife.
