Dude, it’s not how fucking far you hit the ball…. Everyone is trying to smash the shit out of there driver for what ? To say I drove it 300, it’s all about position off the tee not how far you out drive your mate. Nobody cares how far you hit it….
The reason you are not hitting it far is because you are shallowing your driver out WAY to far. Feel like it’s strait back and strait through more and use your weight transfer for more power.
Incorrect; some of the fastest on tour shallow just as much if not further- look at Joaquin Niemann or (an exaggeration of your swing and an absolute bomber) Matthew wolf. You’ve got a swing that’s your own and fundamentally sound and I love it, keep up the training brother!
Seems like a pretty straightforward bump and run- you only have to clear a few feet of rough ground in the air, then just let it run into the hole. Naturally, I would miss, but it is pretty straightforward despite the downhill lie.
I like to just do it by feel as well like, same way I would lob a baseball in a game of catch. I do the clock method like you say, but take a snapshot of the distance in my mind, then hit to that, really works for me
And as a reference note, when you're actually playing a round DO NOT ground your club in the bunker to test the sand consistency because that's against the rules and you'll be assessed a penalty. It should go without saying but I've seen too many guys do it anyway.
