I have this boat, I love it. At 11 and solid, it is not light. And I wish the fin was retractable, like the centerboard on an old windsurfer. but all in all it truly is the best of both worlds. Dog loves it too.
I sure would like to see how to get them up there with only one person. At least these weren't the cheap, light kayaks. I have a Cuda 14 and Cruise 10. No way I'd ever put my 14 up there, but the cruise 10 would be more manageable. It isn't light though.
Is there a way to rig up a quick release with a snap Shackel when using the anchor wizard? I want to be able to quick release and come back around in case a big wave comes my way etc
I wish videos showing kayaks did more paddling so we can see the kayaks in action, like how well they track. I can read all the details they talk about on the product page. Seems like every video is someone just staying in one place talking about the kayak or showing how they can sit sideways on it. Very frustrating.
It has a fairly flat bottom and relies on a removable fin to keep it on course. Don't expect it to feel like a touring kayak but for its intended purpose it is fine.
The hulls on many kayaks are V-shaped so you'd have much more surface area against the bar if the kayak was upside down. Ideally, you'd have foam blocks or saddles but if you don't, your only choice is to put them upside down.
I have one. Very stable. I have a 100 lb dog that tries to jump on and off the whole trip. He can only capsize me 1 in 10 tries :-). Its really easy to SUP.
