Thanks for your map link. I’m doing a very similar Hanoi-HaLong Bay loop myself but even longer (down to Ninh Binh, along to Dien Bien Phu then to Sapa before Ha Giang) Did you pass by Ban Gioc Falls completely in Cao Bang? You must’ve only been 50km away!

Hi there It was the perfect bike for this trip : + lightweight + easy to handle in all kind of situation + strong off-road abilities but capable of "high" speed as well + reliable + easy to and cheap to maintain + lots of spare parts + big tank and low fuel consumption (500km max with one full tank) Cons : - a bit limited in off-road with 2 people + luggage - center of gravity a bit high with this kind of artesanal luggage mount
Nicely done. Sweet, short, moves along well, and you let the beautiful scenery do the talking. I live in Thailand, ride here a lot. The nicest roads and people are always away from the cities and highways, true everywhere I guess. Hope the suicide chicken made it... Would love to see your tracklog.

Great job on the video, guys. I travel via moto a lot and often do trip reports on ADV, but never make videos because they are usually pretty lame. Yours is a nice exception!
I bought it, because I didn't want to have constraints, and because the full trip last 5 months I got to cross some borders. Actually I just arrived in Laos from Cambodia.
Occi Vids tu as parfaitement raison, c’est la loi. Mais ils exagèrent un tout petit peu avec leurs lois... un disco est fait de la même matière que l’intérieur d’un casque de moto il est très difficile de blesser quelqu’un avec... le jour où ils emmerderont les videastes amateurs pour des vidéos comme celle-là (et oui, les nouvelles lois le permettent) il sera temps de prendre les armes contre la dictature. Ces lois sont prévues pour sanctionner lourdement ceux qui mettent en danger la vie d’autrui (vols à proximité de bidules à réaction, de centrales, de zones militaires, de foules, etc.), et j’espère qu’elles seront appliquées dans ces cas là, mais le vol montré ici (fait avec un disco en mousse...) ne peut mettre en danger que les moustiques...
