This is the only level in this game where I got so lost in it that at some point I paused, took out a paper notebook, copied the in-game map on paper, added all the non-indicated secrets & items & then took time to figure out the shortest all-connecting path (Hamiltonian cycle) so I could 100% it quickly without getting lost.
I can't understand for the life of me why most people think this game is better than the first one. At least the first leverl of Turok 2 was fucking boring to me. Almost fell asleep, no kidding.
Dark industrial interiors and futuristic space aesthetics. Those narrow corridors used to confuse me so much as it was like wandering through an endless maze. Such an awesome final level. They certainly ended it on an epic note.
I remember getting so confused and lost many times during this level. But the design of it is really incredible. Love the dark underground caverns, underwater tunnels, rivers and waterfalls!
Yes I remember this level being intense, a bit confusing but also really awesome! It reminds me heavily of Warcraft II, dark medieval and tribal vibes.
Another interesting thing is that the lava/volcano levels were near the beginning and the final levels were space-themed. Spaceport Alpha was my favorite track and song.
One thing I liked about Diddy Kong Racing that was different from most games is that other than Ancient Lake, the grassland/forest type levels usually at the beginning were near the end.
T.T. gave us a perfect lesson as kids on how to be a good friend. Always be happy when our friends do well, even if they're beating a personal best we're proud of.
These are Timecodes for anyone in the future looking for the child locations specifically, they are not when the child is found but when the path to the child is taken 1:08 1st child 3:40 2nd child 5:30 3rd child 7:39 4th Child I prefered using the speedrun to find these locations because i didn't have to sit through an hour walkthrough of level 1 :)
This game 100% holds up. I just picked it up again recently and it’s just as fun as I remember. It incentivizes exploration so well. This was so ahead of its time. We went from super Mario world to this in very short time. I know it’s not the first FPS ever but my god did it do some things first and do them so well
There is none in the first level. There is a portal to a room where you'd expect a feather, but that one is just empty, with just a cutscene explaining things.
