Rather China than the USA The USA would have weaponized the supply of drugs long since. The Chinese also manufacture many drugs to American patents for American companies. This increases American company profits. The USA has a bill going though the house to ban American companies dealing with the main Chinese manufacturer. I can see a major problem coming soon to their patients.

China does not sanction others just because they don't subjugate themselves to China. China will only sanction as a last resort i. e. when that country is indicating that it intends to harm China.
Pharmaceutical in the western world are profit oriented. They had no incentive in R&D for the benefit of humankind but for the benefit of the shareholders. So their Quality/Price ratio was oriented to the develop markets and their products were not affordable for the rest of the world's markets. China started to invest in Pharmaceutical with the purpose of making products affordable to the Chinese population. In the meantime making products affordable to the rest of the world's market. So was it a good thing? They have reach a monopoly on the world's markets because they took this approach and nobody else wanted to compete because of not enough ROI for the investors. Should R&D in Pharmaceutical be for the benefit of the shareholders only or for the benefit of mankind? i remember of the history of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation Meningitis Vaccine Project for Africa. There was already western vaccines available but they were sold at a price affordable only to the top 1% of the African population. They western Pharmaceutical didn't want to sell them to the Gates Foundation at a lower price because they fear it would be smuggled out to Africa and sold on the western black markets and make them losing the high profits they were making with the western tourists visiting Africa. And then a long PR battle started between the Gates Foundation and the western Pharmaceuticals.

Friendly speaking India pharma are control by western especially US. When India hit terrible Delta Covid US refused supply raw material to produce vaccines. Most pharma produce by India are patents right by Western especially US. India had no raw material to produce all import from others countries especially China. How big India in manufacturer pharma is no use if Western and US not allow India do or Western, US and China not supply raw materials, India can't do anything at all. India are the last country come out Covid vaccine but the world already don't need it. Tell me how many vaccines or medicine made in India are not control by Western and US?
