Silly question but how did you remove the collar with the set screw? That part of the video was cut out. Did you get any video of that process? I was thinking I'd run the set screw out until they clear the notches and then put a pipe wrench on them. I just don't want to mash the collar so it gets egg shaped or break off a set screw. What did you do? Also, the entire assembly wants to move when I apply pressure. How did you hold it in place? I'm afraid if I put a pry bar on the sprocket I could bust some teeth. Thank you in advance!
the Nuts for the clutch adjustment shouldnt be much more than stiff as they live in hydro oil and the thread is pretty fine - as said i didnt need to put undo force on the setup on mine - if you are having issues holding it you could put both large outer nuts on a single shaft and lock them against one another and use one or the other to take the bulk of the torsion.
Hey man, what turbo did you use again, i think I remember it was Ford transit and variable vain ? Looking at taking van off road and having a play around!! Cheers, Andy.
For what it's worth the Wheel bolt pattern should be the same as a GM half ton PU truck which I assume you could easily find in the UK. I mention this as then you could use/run a 16 inch tire if wanted and the rims would easily hold the weight of the machine, IMHO.
I have a 1529 also, mine has a 3 cylinder water cooled in it? Have you seen any with a 3 cylinder? Also have you looked into getting replacement drive clutch plates? Thanks
Is that a Deutz engine?.....clutch plates, i have found some of the proper ones but the cost would be ridiculous to re-line the whole vehicle. so at the moment im looking for a reasonable source of them too. Also to bear in mind there are two different types.
@@ferretboy221 Dont believe its a deutz engine as its water cooled, I believe its a david brown engine, and ive seen others with the same engine so i dont think its a 'garage shed special'. When you say there are two different types, is that for fwd/rev?
@@Falconavich No there are two different clutch plate types as fitted to the whole vehicle ie all 4 sets, my plates are Formsprag plates whereas another skid may have Stearns type plates......they are just two slightly different systems. parts are different in each...but each system does the same job in moving the vehicle
How do you know what plates you have i just got one and in the middle of restoring it its fitted with a straight 4 gas engine but its my 1st project like this im in the middle of replacing the hydraulic lines and new tires but doesn't move left so good and how do i fill the hydraulic i have no info on it any info would be much appreciated
@@TheLj4100 Mine literally have the Name Formsprag stamped in to the outer covers where the levers operate. also the plates are a different shape and design from what ive seen in the parts manual
Hello I have a question concerning the Case 1529 can I get your phone number? I would like to know if the 2 half pulleys of the driven pulley (the big 12" pulley) are both fixed with the screws on the axle. Pirre 0032496862284
Top work, great write up on thread, many thanks for the share !! Be interested to see results after remap, so far its bloody impressive results man !! Peace.
@@ferretboy221 looking from the front of your engine it runs clockwise so you would turn the origional starting handle anti clockwise as its on the half shaft am i correct ? i see your air duct on the flywheel says your engine is running the right way but mine runs anti clockwise so you crank it clock wise so all i need from you please is the model number from your starter motor and i can get one that cranks clockwise thanks for your replys im trying to find a starter not in any way trying to prove anything the one i have uses one cylinder as a compressor
Will check...though im probably going to try and find a modern geared alternative as the battery I was using was a 130AH Scania battery and it was flogging even that.
I could have had one of these for free . They are mini running gear 1275 was great but I would have loved to have stuck the metro 1 4 in it what a great looking car
It's strange, I don't remember seeing anyone else there with a camera that day. Me and my brother were the 2 other guys on your team that day running cameras. I'll have to go back and that a look see if I can see you.
