Hi there, the Aerial has a foam spine whch give's the blade a tiny bit of pop. It isn't comparable to true foam core paddles but you do notice it for sure!
Hello, currently the RRP is £629.00 you can check them out on our web site by clicking the link below. Thank you www.whitewaterthecanoecentre.co.uk/palm-cascade-suit-19483-p.asp
Hi there, yes it would work well. It doesn't restrict movement and feels comfortable when worn for long periods! We rate it highly in the shop due to it's versatility when used for different disciplines.
Unfortunately it will not be added to the previous designs but will be used in all new Pyrahna designs going forward. It also can not be back fitted to the older designs either.
Reading the bumf online it states “blades feature a wide, flattened foam spine that simulates performance qualities of full foam-core blades. “ Do they feel buoyant like the Werner foam cores? I like a buoyant rudder 😅
Hello, The foam spine is quite small, it gives the blade a tiny bit of pop, but now where near as buoyant as say a Shogun or Odachi. It does make the blade super stiff though which is really like. The spine is also nice and flat, it makes the blade really controllable when slicing it through the water.
Really like the looks of this for a "second" kayak...after the big box model, and you know you want to spend a little more without going crazy....My "daily paddler" is very similar ... but out of production. I'd love to try this out, as this looks like what I'd be wanting to recommend to someone new to kayaking.
Thanks, nice review. Two questions: 1) Do you have the weight on each to compare? 2) Which suit sells more? 3) Are the warranties similar? If not, how do they differ?
Hello, I can't find a published weight for the Kokatat suit! However. NRS have a published weight of 1.5Kg for their large Axiom suit, i've just put my large Kokatat Meridian on the scales in the shop and there saying 1.7Kg. In terms of sales, again it's pretty close but the Kokatat Meridian takes a narrow lead here. Warranties, here in the UK any warranty issues are sorted slightly differently between the two brands. NRS work with a repair partner ( Hammond Drysuits) who carry out any necessary work quickly and to a high standard. Kokatat warranties are carried out at there European importer based in Woking. All the servicing and warranty items we've had to get done have ben dealt with super quick, very impressive set up. It's hard to say one is better than the other. Both suits have "limited lifetime" warranties, the NRS suits haven't been around for to many years and any issues we've seen have been sorted without question. Kokatat Gore-Tex suits have been around for some time and we still see 10 year old suits coming through with issues that get repaired and go back out all carried out under warranty. Both companies customer services are very very good. The main difference between the two suits is the cut, if possible give them both a try and see what one feels and fits best.
Thanks for the helpful information. Dry suits are such a niche product. And from my the research, seemingly all dry suits serve their purpose well with only a narrow range of notable differences. Given, the decision as to which brand to buy comes down to the manufacturer’s commitment to customer service on a “lifetime” warranty. For me, the choice will come down to reading customer reviews, perusing Reddit and the like, to get a sense of after sales satisfaction.
If you still have this knife I’d be interested in buying it. I had one and lost it. It was my favorite and I can’t find it anywhere since being discontinued. Not even on eBay. Thanks!
Same here, brother. I had the redpoint 750 and 753. Lost the former years ago, lost the later recently. Then I found benchmade who came up with that sort of lock to begin with and fell for the osborne design. It took money to fill that void but I personally couldn't go back if I had the option.
This is a great review! Thank you for sharing your first impressions and feedback after paddling the Aerial. We are excited for more people to be able to give it a try.
Morning Diana, The model in the video, Joel, is 5foot 9inch tall and has an athletic build and weighs 66Kg. In the video he's wearing a medium. Thank you for the comment.
I'm 94kg and a little long in the leg. I'm currently using a fusion but I struggle with... 1) leg room 2) bouyancy. Anything better out there I could consider.
What size fusion are you using? The Fusion L should be more than sufficient volume wise for you and is a bigger boat than the Ion. Other options of similar crossover kayaks are the Dagger Katana 10.4. If you are just using the boat on flat water then it would be worth looking at the Dagger Axis E, it runs well and has plenty of room inside for taller paddlers, however it is not suited to whitewater.
Hey gents, quick question: does it spin on a wave? Obviously it's not got a stepped chine or a spin disc, but it does remind me a lot of my old Dagger infrared and that was pretty loose and had really sweet glide. So how does it measure up?
Hi Gemma, For it's length it's pretty loose. Your not going to be doing endless easy flat spins, but if you've got a good size wave you can spin and blunt. It does surf really well, very smooth. We are really big fan's of the Joker, it's a lot of fun.
@@WWTCC Thanks for that. There isn't that much footage round, but it does look like it has nice glide, a nice refinement on that brief generation of boats that came after the RPM, but before the Glide & the X (Razor/Blade, Infrared/Redline) but with all the modcons. Wait till the next container arrives down here and take one for a demo I guess. Cheers.
I don't know about the 1-person Scooter, but for the two-person Scooter XT (vs old Gemini), Wavesport told me in an email that bow volume had increased slightly, along with bow width and flare, for increased buoyancy at the front and better handling in choppy waters. They also said the bailer system had been improved for quicker drainage...
1:21 - my stratos 12.5L does not have the slide lock foot brace, it has the whitewater style full foot plate. Mine is about 1 year old. Has there been a design update? Or do the dealers get a choice? I like the foot plate very much.
Hi Jason, in the US I think you have a different outfitting specification than we have the in UK, Europe. Here we can only get the slideLock footrest fitted as standard.
Ripper 1 was total garbage but converted to c1 and is ace, have a ripper 2 as kayak and is excellent apart from the outfitting especially the back rest as constantly too low. Not sure I would have another Pyranha until they can fit decent outfitting like Dagger
Hey Simon, the Juice was a pretty cool boat. There is a bit of a resemblance, but i'm going to say it going to paddle quite diffrently! Stay tuned and as soon as the ice melts and we get some water in the river we're be out giving it a good test.
Hello Colm, at 14 stone you should be fine. i'm 13.5 stone and find it a great boat to paddle. If you can, we have a demo at the shop. Come and give it a try.
I have an Adventure 450 but looking for something faster on flat water. I find it very stable but was wondering how stable this boat is? Any advice? Cheers
The Allstar 10 will definitely be a lot faster than your Adventure 450. The Allstar 10 is a stable boat however if you are not used to paddling this style of boat you may find it a little wobbly at first, it is something you will get used to very quickly. We are huge fans of this boat and can't recommend it highly enough. We also have a Demo in the shop so if you would like to try it out you are more than welcome.
