@quayvision I Master! Awesome review. What do you recommend if I have 4 guests, to connect the 4 headphones, does the Tascan have that function for 4 or do I have to buy something separately?
I just found your channel. My man, you just sold me on the Tascam X8. I already own the zoom H8 and I did a video of recording rap vocals in the park with an SM7B, but I wanted something a bit smaller to carry around. I'll be picking up the X8 instead of the H6. A great video. You earned a new subscriber.
Just won a pair - pretty amazing - they also translated whatever I was looking at (English/Italian/Spanish/French/German) - was able to answer a math problem I wrote down - was able to answer a multiple choice question on screen - basically also act like BT headset - v6 update now allows 3min vids 😎
wich one do you guys recommend? For creating kinetic sand videos , slime , and asmr. I BOUGHT a Tascam dr 40x and it was too noisy I returned it. I ALSO have 2 NT5 mics trying to create stereo sound asmr videos just dont know wich audio interface to get that fits for my asmr videos . something with low noise . PS I'm a newbie TASCAM X6 OR X8 OR ZOOM F3 Or any other ones that are low noise ?
Great video. I own the H6, F3, F8nPro and the X8 as well as some others. All are fantastic recorders; which one I love most is impossible to say, all depends on my mood and ergonomics. I think the X8 is nearly perfect, except some reliability issues. It's strength is versatility. It has a variety of inputs and connectors, it can act as a mixer, a podcast console, it has DSP effects... But it is less comfy when you want to use it in a soundbag. If I were forced to keep only one these recorders, it would probably be the X8.
I’ve had transition lenses for 20 years or more haha. But yeah I also been wearing prescription glasses since I was 7. So each time I go in for a test I know what tech they use.
Nice review man! 😎 I got the normal wayfarer ray ban sunglasses but I also wear prescription glasses so don’t get to wear the sunglasses much. And also wasn’t sure what size to go for cos like you I got a wide face n stuff. So wasn’t sure if I should get the large or XL cos both are designed for a wide face 🤔🤷♂️ I’m going in tomorrow to get my eyes tested and they don’t have them in stock so can’t just try the different sizes on. Even the normal sunglass hut place only have medium I think. So yeah. So annoying! But I guess it shows how good and popular they are! 😁 any advice on what I should do? If I bring my regular ray ban wayfarer sunglasses into the optometrist where I’m getting my eyes tested I guess that could work out what size I need to get yeah? 🤷♂️ confused what I should do lol
Did you do anything in post to remove background noise? I have the same combo with the portacapture and SM7B, getting a lot of background noise when bumping up the gain
Hi. Great video! Which one, or others similar, would you think to be preferable for recording a handpan instrument at a budget no higher than $400 USD? Thank you.
I hear the “be a problem solver” all the time but no one really goes in to detail on what to do. How exactly are you solving a problem? How do you overcome the problem you present?
It’s really as simple as looking at their business from a consumer standpoint. Go to their social media, website etc. and ask yourself as a consumer what can this use to attract me to be a potential customer .. If it’s a lack of content or explaining what they do/how they do it.. offer the solution to give them x number of content to help them make their business/product look more appealing to potential customers/clients. It could also be a lack of testimonials, product photography, head shots etc. Every business is lacking something. Tell them how you can improve their content and how that will help them improve sales.
right! But always be genuine with it. These business owners aren’t stupid. If they already have decent content maybe they need to do something different. The more you learn about the company and their clientele base/customers the better you can assess what they really need that will help with sells or whatever. Every business is different and have different needs. Just make it your job to find what that is and bring it to their attention. I’ll give you a lil cheat code.. There are 2 types of content every business needs more of.. 1. Testimonal videos from customers they already have 2. ‘About Us’ content. Basically getting them to have more of a presence on social media explaining to their audience who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Those 2 content ideas never really seem to fail .. unless they’re executed poorly
@@giantchasersexample; if their content is more on the serious level.. different could be adding alil more personality showing you’re a human being that likes to have fun. Or vice versa if the content is playful make a bit more serious.
Having a difficult time finding a review of these devices that doesn't have a music bed on it. Great review, but... why add background music to an audio recorder demo? At the very end, you do turn off the music, and at that point, the difference becomes clear. Does the Zoom H6 really have that much of a noise floor? Hiss city!
I have the 669d it’s the best mic I have. I have several that cost so much more. It just sounds better. It’s only down side is it really needs a shock mount. What I added it it was perfect.
If you are looking to primarily shoot video - exclusively - get the fx3. It is updated more and has more features via firmware updates than the a7s iii. I have one. Had i known that Sony was going to almost immediately come out with the fx3 i would have waited. I agree with everything said here in this video, but Sony does not value the a7s iii anymore, and we got our first significant update last week. Yes, last week. The fx3 was already equipped.
Bad advice right from the get go! Recommending an SM7B is insane. ‘Looks really good on camera.’ 😮 Being honest, that’s why most people buy an SM7B. Don’t waste your money people.
Isn’t that why most people buy anything? lol if I’m going to buy something I want it to look good especially if it’s going to be shown on camera. That’s why people buy anything.. well most people so if they want to spend their money on shit that looks good, let them. 🤦🏾♂️
@@samconsonero7821 really? What's the difference 3 months ago vs now? Was the vision capability not out at that time? I don't actually own the glasses yet, so idk
Im looking for a new field recorder to use for experimental sound recordings and as an interface. I was going with the H6, but I don’t think I will anymore 🤣
No worries, haters are everywhere, they exist to make us proud of our struggles and success. 😉 Started photography in 2008 with a Sony dslr and had no chance back then with this brand, now is just a hobby but got balls to handle many pros, because aint all about gear, is also talent. ❤
Great comparison and exactly the info I was looking for. Upgrading from the Podmic to the SM7B and running it thru the F6. Was always told I would need a cloudlifter, but with 32-bit I wanted to be sure before buying. Great info! 👌🏻
I am interested in doing vlogging, podcasting , and ASMR. I was wondering if the Portacapture x8 would be great for this . Also I am wondering if you can recommend a couple of microphones that would be appropriate for the types of recordings that I am interesting in doing?
Really glad I saw this video! Pretty tricky to have had the SM7B turned off when you put the Fifine on the table, but it really hammered home how budget mics have come a really long way. Great video! Thanks!
@@quayvision I went ahead, on your recommendation, and got a pair of these mics. Wow! I may upgrade eventually, but I couldn't be happier with these. I had two pencil condensers (I'm an audio idiot) that were making so much noise I almost returned my audio interface. You saved me a lot of cash, my friend!
Yeah it’s definitely a beast. I don’t love that it’s heavy either but honestly would take it because everything is built so well with high quality material. Definitely seeing it lasting quite a long time!
When you figure it out, let me know ! lol and nah.. I haven’t played with mine in a minute. I should look and see tho because I’ve been waiting on that.
Oh and really appreciate the sub bro! Your stuff looks really good too! Trying to get my channel up to your level! 🙏🏾 threw you a sub right back ! 🤙🏾🙏🏾
That’s amazing! And it looks like you’re one of the BEST, in such a short period . So inspiring. I just started something that I just learned how to do after spending all the little money I had on creating this idea and vision, I’m starting to second guess myself😰 I just need to start and quit being afraid. Again so inspiring, thanks.
If they can combine these glasses with the selective dimming in the Ampere Dusk glasses…. It’s over. This would be the ultimate combination! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-89-ESH5lZi0.htmlsi=pb01yLJ5tlByV533
I just checked out that video. Man that would be a game changer for real! I had a feeling that technology existed. Need that in the Raybans along with 16:9 format shooting and longer record limits and it’ll be perfect! Lol
Keep it close and pray it doesn’t happen lol.. Nah but I have an AirTag in the case and just coordinate with the coordinator and/or the couple to put your stuff in secure places or keep it close by at all times.
Thanks for the demonstration of transition lenses. I haven’t been able to find a good example of transitions anywhere. Getting a sneak peak at your recording setup was a cool surprise. Great review. I’m looking forward to trying these out.
I’ve used the Sony a6500 since 2019 and am looking to take videography more seriously now with a full-frame cam. But just feels unwise to upgrade to a camera that’s almost 4 years old. It would probably be 8 years old by the time I upgrade again if I bought it now. Also haven’t heard news of Sony releasing new cameras in this range anytime soon. Only alternative seems to be the Sony FX3 which seems maybe a better long-term option considering it’s newer and has some upgrades. Do you think the A7Siii will keep up for another 3-4 years or become outdated?
I honestly think it will hold its value. Put it this was. Sony has released about 5/6 camera since the release of the siii and only the ones with the “cinema” label has been better cameras. Fx3 would be something I would go for because there is a pretty big update coming to that camera later this year. As far as the a7siii .. I have heard a few rumblings of Sony working on a a7siv that could come in 2025 but other than some AI type features and recording in 6 or 8k there’s not much else I see that would make a major impact on the image quality that we’re already getting. Also that camera could be on the plus side of $4000 when it does drop. I personally think the siii is still a great buy today. But if you really want to future proof yourself.. look into the A1 at $6k 👀👀
This is all just my opinion tho. I do anticipate us getting an fx3 ii or an a7siv in 2025 but who knows.. The way Sony has been releasing cameras these days it could even come sooner .. no one knows
@@quayvision I think A1 is a bit too serious for now haha but my next upgrade would probably be a top line camera like that. Yea, the uncertainty about releasing new cameras is annoying. An upgrade would also at least make a7S III cheaper to buy rn but nothing we can do unless you know someone high up at Sony it seems. Just looked again and there’s some talk of the Sony aS IV in Autumn 2024 but as you say, I’m realising there’s not much this cam doesn’t have apart from high Megapixels (which is why it’s great for low light filming/120fps 4k) so seems relatively timeless. Also realised I won’t go for FX3 as I’d want to do some photography too so will most likely buy A7S III now or possibly wait for upgrade and just add some quality lenses/other gear in meantime. Appreciate the advise and vid man!
@@reuben.walkeryeah bro no problem! But yeah outside of some AI features and maybe some global shutter capabilities.. you shouldn’t feel the need to upgrade to the a7siv when it drops. In terms of image quality.. the a7siii would definitely be relevant for a long time. Caution yourself in getting caught up in the fomo and listing to all these big time youbuters saying that cameras are outdated or you need these new features and blah blah blah. My advice, if you focus on the story telling and learning the camera in and out. You’ll be making banger videos with the a7siii for many more years to come.. I mean shit.. i JUST sold my a7iii to someone yesterday lol. I think you’ll be fine with the a7siii bro honestly ..
