TWC Projects is a VLOG about creating things, fixing things, and just enjoying the outdoors. (Learn more at twc-projects.net ) I bring you along as I work my land, cutting trees, milling lumber to build all kinds of great stuff, clearing trails for my UTV, and even working on my old classic Porsche. Will also review some of my favorite tools/equipment and go on a few adventures like trail riding in the mountains or a trip to Maine. The goal is to inspire you to create things, fix things, and learn new things. So come along for the ride and hopefully have as much fun watching as I have making these videos.

What gas type does it need 67 regular?
@twc-projects
@twc-projects 4 дня назад
87 octane works fine, but if you can find "ethonal free", you're less likely to have the issues I had. Alternatively, for equipment like this that for sits for long periods (like over a year) without being used, you should empty the gas or run it dry. For small engines with a fuel shutoff, simply shut off the fuel and let the engine burn off all the fuel left in the line and carborater. Hope that helps.

Have the Tboss 560, like it a lot. However, it is quite noisy compared to a friend of mines Polaris, but he paid for that for sure. Came fully loaded. I did swap out my tires for SunF A021 flat track tires because I use mine on paved roads. They are much more silent on the street and don't wear as much on chipped roads. The ride is smoother and less noisy also. Unit does not have speakers to support the onboard Bluetooth music feature. I could add them later, but because of the engine, wind and rattles it makes while driving that would not be practical unless stopped and parked. I have a portable radio for that anyway. Broke a wheel lug bolt, they are 10mm and hard to find. Changed them all out to 12mm available at any auto store. Keep the front seat covered with an old towel to keep my dog from scratching up the foam with his nails. He likes to ride shotgun.

Do your self a favor and get a slip clutch for your tractor. If you have a mahindra tractor with the electronic PTO , you will go through shear bolts like crazy. You can put a slip clutch directly on you tractor with simple modification to the top link connector.

Thanks for the good advice. I haven't broken another bolt since that first time of use when I was creating the meadow. That was my fault for trying to cut small trees that were 2+ inches accros. It's just not made for that. Last two times I used it, it worked perfectly. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for the future though. Sounds like a good pro tip. Thanks for watching and for your support. Have a fantastic day.

Did you ever find more than 4 grease fittings? I just got same tractor and can't find anymore than 4 on my tractor either. Seems like lift arms should have them. There is actually threaded holes on each arm that looks like it could be for zerk but it is just a threaded hole. Thanks for video. Nice job

Thank you. No, I didn't find any more. Just the ones I showed in the video. I need to look when the next service is due, but I'm pretty sure it's at 300hr. I'm only at 130 now. I've been using the mini excavator the most, so haven't put many hours on the tractor. Hope you enjoy your tractor. Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Have a great day.

What? That's crazy! I tried dealing with FedEx, but needed the mixer that day and didn't want to package it back up. So went to Lowe's and bought an iron rod, cut it to length, spray painted it black, and I was good to go. Works perfectly now, but did cost me $17 extra for the iron rod. :( Oh well. Bought a Polaris 1000 General 4 loaded with options: Stupid. Obviously, price is car-like at $29K. As a four seater it is too big for its britches. But when I worked on it I was amazed (disappointed) at the low quality level of the materials and total lack of engineering intuitiveness.I would have been fine with the Massimo. Recently raced a Polaris Razor Turbo and that was a beast. However, zI was unaware that it did not have a raised belt cooling vent and I-and four others-succumbed to water flooding the belt through the low vent. A shaft driven Honda made it through. Then, just doing a flat-ground 2-wheel spin I hit a small hole and the General fell on its side. Too tall and too narrow and even after 10 years of sxs riding I still went 90 degrees. Will look at Massimo but am leaning toward Honda.

So after 2 years of use and dealer service, how would you rate the tractor and dealer. Would you be willing to do a follow up video?
@twc-projects
@twc-projects 20 дней назад
Haven't really had a need to interact with the dealer since I bought the tractor, because I've done my own maintenance on it, and haven't had any issues requiring the dealer. I certainly liked the buying experience, so that's all I can report on for the dealer. As far as the tractor itself, I still love it. Had one minor issue with a bolt loosening up on the loader control lever. Took me all of 30min to figure out and fix. When I hear other people talk about how great their new 40+hp tractor has new features like auto throttle hydrostatic 3 speed transmission, and that they can now lift 1,800lbs, I always chuckle to myself because I paid almost half of what they did, 3yrs ago and mine does all that and more. So yes, I feel pretty good about this tractor, as I suspect you can tell if you've watched the dozens of videos I have on it. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Have a fantastic day.

I’ve had mine for two months. It’s overheating like crazy. I think it might be the electric fan is not operating correctly. also, it keeps blowing 215 amp fuses on the left side of the fuse panel. Not sure what that’s all about yet could be the overheating, maybe not.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Месяц назад
Wow. That doesn't sound good. If you determine that it's not the fan/electrical, you may want to try changing the thermostat. And if you haven't already, go to my website resources page ( twc-projects.net/resources ) where you'll find valuable info on the Massimo, including technical diagrams and ECU codes, to help you troubleshoot. There are two very important things you failed to do. Just behind the top link are two short arms that bolt to the longer arms. That is a hinge to allow the whole deck to follow the lay of the land. So those bolts can't be completely tight. Most important is that you didn't separate the sections of the PTO and apply grease so it will telescope easily. And you didn't measure to see if you had to shorten the PTO shaft. If it's too long it can drive the PTO shaft on the tractor back into the differential case. If that happens it will be a multi thousand dollar repair. There are videos on RU-vid to show you how to shorten the PTO shaft.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Месяц назад
Thanks so much for all your helpful comments. I'll check the things you mentioned this weekend when I use it again. I've used it 3 or 4 times now for a few hours each time, and it's worked great, no issues other than breaking a few shear bolts trying to cut stuff that was too large. I did grease the shaft the 1st time I used it, following this video. But I'll go back and look at the manual, because I was confident it specifically said to tighten all bolts. What you said makes sense though, so I'll check it out. Thanks for watching. I appreciate you looking out for me. Have a fantastic day.

Why not burn all the wood in the clearing?
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Месяц назад
Great question. That was my original plan. But then I discovered how breezy it is there all the time, and I would need to stay there to keep an eye on it. Plus I'd need some sort of water supply to soak down the coals. Plus, the county only allows burning after 4:00PM, so I'd have to be there all night. The list goes on. If I lived there, burning would be the way to go. I needed the dump truck anyway to haul tons of stone and other materials, as well as to haul the excavator. So it all worked out. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Have a fantastic day.

Where do you get the rock chain guards for the county line mower?
@twc-projects
@twc-projects Месяц назад
Great question. There are holes in place to add a rock chain guard, but after checking around just now, I couldn't find one made specifically by the manufacturer of this rotary cutter. I thought at the time I bought it that this was an option from TractorSupply, but can't find it now. There are several available that should fit, but they may not line up with existing holes, requiring you drill some to make aftermarket chains fit. Sorry I couldn't help with this one. I haven't actually had a need for the guard yet for where I use the cutter.. Thanks for watching and for your comments.

Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. This is the first piece of large equipment I bought from tractor supply, and I don’t think I will ever buy from there again. I’ve had bolts break in half, there was so much rust and dirt on the PTO shaft, etc. It just seemed very, Very old and it made it much more difficult to put together. Not to mention, the bolts were tightened way too much. Your video definitely helped me get ir pur together, though. Thanks

These have worked fantastically. In all fairness, these are fairly high-end Paradigm speakers to start with, being used as rear surrounds; these are a line above any models they sell at Crutchfield. So they will sound far more impressive than Bose or any speaker from Best Buy, whether they are boxed or not. I created the boxes not really to improve sound, but to reduce it for traveling into the next room. From that stand point, they do an excellent job. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Sorry about that. I've had good intentions, but it just hasn't been a high enough priority. This will unfortunately won't be done for several more years, while I work toward retirement. I might be able to get it running before then, but the real work will come after I retire. Then I'll go from top to bottom of this car. It needs all new gaskets, seals, fluids, brakes, and anything made of rubber. Then all new interior. Then paint and tires. It's a massive project. Thanks for checking out my channel though. I appreciate it. Have a fantastic day.

@twc-projects I love the look, and it looks like the design of the shell construction. I'm very surprised to see that there's no insulation in the interior shell. Have you done any camping yet in the summer? I'm curious if it's extra warm. And then extra cold on cooler nights. Great video.
@twc-projects
@twc-projects 2 месяца назад
Thanks for the kind words. I have not had a chance yet to use it in the summer, but it does have screens on 3 sides, so there is good ventilation for the warmer nights. I have used it in the very cold and it sealed out the wind very well. However, only good sleeping bags will keep you warm. Not sure insulation on the hard shell would do much for keeping the temperature cooler either, unless your shell is facing the sun on a hot day. But this tent is designed to put up and take down quickly, when you're ready to sleep. You shouldn't typically be using it in the heat of the day, so insulation may just be extra weight, extra bulk, and extra cost. Just my opinion though, and I'm not a big camper so I could be wrong about this. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a fantastic day.

Hello. I have a 26x50x10 and am wanting to put a ceiling fan in it. What box did you use for your fan and how did you attach it to the metal truss? How is it working for you? Thanks

I used a standard metal deep circular box and mounted using the same sheet metal screws that attach the roof and walls to the framing. My fan was light enough, but you could add a bolt with washer, lock washer and/or locking nut if you are worried about weight. I think we either put in one bolt with washer and nut, along with 3 sheet metal screws, or all 4 sheet metal screws. The fan is fairly lightweight, and the sheet metal screws we used are heavy duty; the whole building is held together with them. I have 15 hours on mine and I can't keep a blade on for longer than 25 min (destroyed 10 or so so far). I took the follower wheel of as well but all the bolts were tight- can you really adjust something there by maybe losen e.g. the bottom ones? We noticed that once you put tension on the blade, the wheel gets fairly solid. Had a friend there yesterday and we made some adjustments again and after 15 min or so we destroyed another blade. I am in contact with woodland mills and they have no field technician. How we should solve that over the phone is kind of a mystery to me.. my logs needs to be milled asap...
@twc-projects
@twc-projects 2 месяца назад
I'm so sorry you're having such a problem with your saw. It's been a while since I did this, but I'm pretty sure all 4 allen screws adjusted. Not the hex bolts, but the allen screws. But you should only need to adjust two screws, depending on what side is off center. As you saw in my video, I measured distance from top, bottom, left side, right side of the wheel to the housing to figure out which direction the band was sliding off. For example if the top was a 3mm closer than the left and right side, and the bottom 3mm further, then I would try adjusting the top two screws a quarter turn each then put the wheel back on and measure it again. I'd repeat until I get the top, slides, and bottom as close as I can to one another. Hope that helps, but I may not be understanding your full situation, as I'm not there to see exactly what you're dealing with. You may want to check-out "Sawing with Sandy" on RU-vid as well. He has lots of great videos on these saws, and hundreds more hours of experience with them. Best of luck to you. Hope you get this sorted out soon.
