Thank you Maria - I hadn't noticed the drop down segment before. When I watched your video I then had the idea that maybe you can literally drag the keyframe on the drop down part under the clip without going to the inspector...and you can!

Hi @paultsworld :) Do you mean softness? I can't seem to attach an image to my response, but on the colour page when you select your window type, the menu on the right of it will have different options: 'transform' and 'softness'. Under 'softness' you can select it for outside and inside the selection. I think that will work for you. Let me know if you need a screenshot.

Thanks for your message, @Paultsworld . If the clips are shot in the same area/ same lighting then you can select a clip (or multiple clips) that you want to change and then right click on the edited one and select 'shot match to this clip'. You can also do this using gallery stills. Depending on what you wanted to do I think LUTs would be the best option to get a specific look. @christian-schubert
@christian-schubert 2 месяца назад
While this is an effective method, you've got to be careful not to overdo it. It's advisable to turn on the qualifier and check whether the white(-ish) parts of your video are actually still close to the center of the vectorscope. Note that we are talking about color CORRECTION here. You might want to introduce a certain bias when attempting to achieve a LOOK afterwards.
@mariatlloyd
@mariatlloyd 2 месяца назад
Hi @christian-Schubert Many thanks for your comment! That is a really good suggestion to add that extra step to check the white parts. Yes, this is very much a cheat way to do this, and a professional will be able to spot the flaws a mile off. I’ve found it a helpful first step, though. My hope is to do another video at a later stage to replace this one (and others) and show a better approach. I'm looking forward to getting to that stage!
@hethfilms
@hethfilms 2 месяца назад
Not sure why you use "shot match to this clip" to apply the correction to other clips in the sequence. If they are all shot with identical settings you can just copy and paste the correction over. Shot match is a function that interprets the footage and can introduce unwanted changes on the other clips.
@mariatlloyd
@mariatlloyd 2 месяца назад
Hi @hethfilms Thank you very much for your comment! That's really helpful. I can't remember where I picked this up from now, but you're absolutely right, I wouldn't use shot match if I'd made other changes to the clip. I'll try out the copy-paste approach later. Thanks, again!
@hethfilms
@hethfilms 2 месяца назад
@@mariatlloyd Sure thing! I just had way more instances of shot match not working and screwing with the image, then getting good results out of it. So I usually stay away from it. ;) Maybe as a follow up idea for a future video you can talk about color management and working with log footage and combining different cameras by shot matching them using the color checker.

@mariatlloyd 2 месяца назад

Ooo, that's interesting! Do you have the link? Was this something that they changed in project settings? I think that in a world where high-quality videos are now - with a little know how - relatively easy to do. The next challenge is to make videos that are visually different. This does need to be faithful to the video content/theme itself, but if done well it can be so effective!
