the problem is, the room i spend most of my time in has AC on almost all day, and i know that that isn't good for birds, even if its not blowing directly at them, so what do i do about that?
My colleague gave me 2 budgies, but still have no idea what to do because they are still really scared of me. Ive been sitting close to their cage and talked to them, i never put my hand in their cage. Whenever they fly out of their cage and i get just a little too close its like they panic. Do i just keep the cage closed and let them fly out when i have bonded with them or. Im pretty clueless as to what to do. I kind of feel like a terrible pet owner. These are the first birds i’ve ever had and i just want them to feel comfortable. I’ll keep on trying this method and hope for results 🥲
Of course they panic when you get close to them out of the cage, you are like 200 times bigger than them and they don't yet know whether you're a deadly predator or not. Move very slowly. When it comes to taming birds, think in terms of weeks and months, not days. Slow progress. Stop immediately if the birds show any signs of distress. It's difficult to be patient but keeping a taming journal helps in keeping track of progress and keeping motivated.
I saved a pigeon from drowning in my pool and I saved its life I fed it and let it sleep her name is flightless because she has trouble flying and i can hold her and pet her birds are fragile and sweet sometimes❤️
Obviously birds need to be fed and their cage still needs to be cleaned. Get exterior feeders/water dispensers so you don't have to reach in, and try to clean the cage only when your birds are on their daily free flight, out of the cage.
I think that if you want people to pay attention to your content just continue to make it regardless of the interaction you initially get. Once it's out there people will watch it, tell their friends and so on. I'm only saying this because I read your bio for this video. I can see that you have quite a sweet relationship with your goldfinch which has been quite eye opening to the internal minds of such animals. In saying that I do feel that you were lucky with your bird, his innate personality seems to be one that loves to interact. I have only been keeping birds for a year now and each one is different; some will want to talk to you some want to be left alone even though they all get the same treatment

Hallo. Ein Stieglitz braucht einen anderen Stieglitz, sie sollten nie alleine gehalten werden. Mit Kanarien vertragen sie sich nicht, zumindest nicht im Käfig. In einer großen Voliere kann man u. U. ein Kanarienpaar und ein Stieglitzpaar zusammenhalten, würde ich aber nicht empfehlen. LG
