Good afternoon. I live in Kiev, Ukraine. A week ago, I got a Webley mk3, with number 33118. Please help me determine its date of birth. THANK YOU in advance!
It seems to be the luck of the draw when it comes to the bigger pieces. It's great when it happens but it's not that common from my experiences buddy 👍
Just depends where ur looking bud I do hav a spot that is flake, picker or nothing. Don't get me wrong they are few and far between but iv pulled at least 40 picable pieces and I'm sure there's afew more. Yet when iv travelled up stream I get more flower and fly poop . Must just be the right catch for it. 👍
Hi Lisa, there's an adventure out there waiting for you then, which can't be a bad thing. All the very best and please keep me informed of how you get on 🙂👍
I've both ridden on contis that have had some small threads happen. And I've ridden them for 10,000km. Here's an idea...if you get a thread. Cut it off...don't keep pulling on it lol
It's always a great sport until the inevitable happens Roy. There's been loads of pro riders hit the tarmac over recent years and it's literally changed their career potential
I'm sure you will be back out at it soon, we've got to get through the long dark nights and winter next. Looking forward to the winter solstice already and clawing back the daylight minute by minute 👍
Fair play Daz, the effort and ground you cover and the effort you put into your videos is commendable. Always an interesting watch. thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Hello My cycling friend. It's good to have so many different hobbies but not good for a RU-vid Channel because the algorithm doesn't know what to do with you🤔 Hope you are well and getting that lovely bike of yours out and about
It's a bit of a spotty area with pockets here and there but I guess the perseverance is paying off by testing all the various sections along the burns.👍
Nice video Daz. You found some lovely gold there. I'd be very happy with that for 4 hours work. Looking at the heavies in the pan I'm guessing you're in the borders 😉. My gear is packed away for Winter. Getting a bit of a fair weather panner😀
The trouble with sluicing this time of year, as in autumn, is the leaves clogging the top mat. But yer, it was a honest afternoon session. Seems to be a good area, however the gold is found in small pockets. You might shift a bucket or two and not notice anything going on, then ping ! A spec of gold 🙂
Cheers buddy, I thought I had some extra footage from the tripod cam for this session but if I did, I can't find it. Nevertheless it's all about telling the story and it turned out ok in the end. That piece was the icing on the cake my friend. I have found few pieces in this region that are bordering "Picker" size. I guess it's all part of the journey.
Hi Tony, apologies from this end. I've still got a few more gold panning videos to get through and then I can get back to the cycling content. I'm still getting out on the bike buddy, 260 miles last week and 200 so far this week. Hope you are getting some rides in too buddy 👍
When out on group rides, I have never physically noticed the difference personally. A quick rider is a quick rider and I would portion that down to their abilty rather tyre choice. I have no data either to prove if they are quicker or slower over a given distance i.e. 3 seconds per mile... The one fact that I can say with confidence is that they rarely puncture and I have ridden with others who opt for a performance tyre over reliability. I have spent many hours at the roadside whilst they repair punctures because the team car didn't come out on the ride with us.(Joke 🙂) Durabilty and trusting a tyre for what your kind of riding is about gets you there and back with minimal down time in my opinion. However, I have gone for an extremely durable and heavy tyre on my hybrid bike, Schwalbe Marathon plus, and I can feel the weight of the bike has gone up and likewise on the climbs, it's now a slog. The positives are, it's now virtually bomb proof and comfy as hell but I will settle for that due to the dark mornings and night rides I do on my daily commute with so many potholes everywhere.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures I have no scientific data to back my claim up. But I have my trusty VDO speedometer and I have to put in extra effort to reach speeds that I achieve on tires I used earlier. I also noticed that on a little downhill, not far from my house, on earlier tires I would reach 40ish kmh without pedaling, but with these Vittorias it is like 37-38. Not very scientific, but it is what it is. All the best, mate.
Ironically on my commute home this evening on the Hybrid with Scwalbe tyres, I was passed by a roadie with a Pinarello Dogma, he was flying ! It was impossible to Match his effort with them tyres, especially on the up hill bits. He must have been fit with how he managed his cadence too, it looked like 100rpm to me. I had a good ride out on the previous weekend on the carbon summer bike with the Vittorias and was covering 20 miles on the hour. It's night and day between the two bikes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend, it's always good to hear contrasting views about this great sport of ours.👍
Thanks for that vid Mr. Daz. So now I know that the Lezyne front light can be opened non-desctructively :-) Next, I need to figure out if the snapped off USB socket can be soldered back, or if that's a showstopper. That USB socket with tiny SMT pins - smells of planned obsolescence to me...
Hi William, there's a few models out there, but I'd say definitely yes. I have a Raleigh Revenio which is an endurance / sportive bike and I love it. I prefer a compact set up 50-34 and 11x30 on the back. But a 11x28 is also fine.
@Williamgillan-y5v you can change the fields on the display. Pick any one of the data windows and press on it for about 5 seconds, it will open up a menu to change it to what ever your preference is.
Hi Peter, Just for the record, I don't usually stroke the tarmac but it was some of the best I've seen in a while 😁. We are so fortunate to have all if these fantastic cycling lanes on our doorstep too 👍
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures You're welcome brother! I've found specks in a few places with just a pan. It's funny because I've read in places that it's almost pointless searching in the Scottish borders.
@JamieMitchell-yl5gp This is the great thing about prospecting buddy, you get the opportunity to re-write what was previously thought to have been known. Good on yas 👍
Totally Agree Dazza, - Prospecting out there in the "uncharted", might in some ways be the hardest, but it's also the most fulfilling. Glad to see you're getting back into that my friend. I've got 12 hard-to-get-to allts with the right geology on my research list for next year - none of which are in _"the book"._ And of course, I'll be returning to the 1 that I got lucky on, out of the 8(!) that I checked out earlier this year. I blank-out a lot, (to borrow the fishing phrase), but it seems that the harder I've had to work for it, the bigger the buzz when I do eventfully find the yellow, and better still that it was without the help of the book, if you know what I mean...
All received and some great points there too. I think it's better to disappear into the woods or the wilderness, out of site and out of mind after a few hours of scouring the British Geological surveyor maps prior. Best of luck with your explorations my friend . Leave no stone unturned 🙂👍
"Build it and they'll come" was that not a quote from waynes world 😉 yi can but try my friend. Ill be doing my best to get bk to it more regular ASAP. Went for a prospect down near Paignton on my recent travels but no joys gold wise just plenty old mines to explore. Hopefully bump into you out n about out there one day ✌
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures well if yer ever shy of an adventurer on yer adventures give a wee hauler im game for learning/sharing some of the knowledge 🤟🏴🤘
Hello Allan, on some rivers you can get permission and on others there appears to be a general view that it goes on and is enjoyed by the hobbyist. The authorities don't like people fishing on the rivers with out a license more than panning and like wise some places where you can get permission, there are restrictions due to spawning grounds up to the 1st of June
Hi Daz, thought it was an alien in the burn at first glance but it was just you. I often say was it a good idea well too often. I'll tell you a little story about things in the ear, mountain biking I sat down in the heathers to have a bite to eat. That night I could hear and feel something in my ear it turned out to be a tick ,had to go to hospital to get it sorted they literally pulled it out with forceps 😢
Nice video Daz. I like your attitude and philosophy. It's about being out there in the fresh air and nature; getting exercise. Any gold found is a bonus😃
