I'm loving the new book mountain in the background! And great Q&A section. I agree with Daniel--just leave the cameras on ALL the time! Or... just livestream 😬
Thanks dude!! I just got done reading this yesterday and was having a hard time with this one. Just some of the dialog was drawn out and I would say just get to the point man. Lol but I felt he was selfish in his own way and what a strange justification of judgment. Well put.
Outstanding work, and I’ve never heard a better presentation explaining “philosophical worldbuilding,” which is so critical yet rarely made explicit. I love how you explained the distinction between “a character changing” and “a character acting out of character,” and what functions as the basis for the intuition of an audience that “a character wouldn’t do that.” I also love the distinction between a “real, fiction character” and a “fictional, fiction character’-that was grand. Well done!
Just finished 'The Fall'. My first time reading Camus, loved it. Very thought provoking, a little above my level but going to start 'The Plague' next. Thanks for taking the time to explain it for the 'Plebeians' of the world 😂
Very interesting video, thanks for talking about it and sharing your thoughts. It is how any dialogue should be. And I felt a part of one during this video. Reading 'Notes from the Underground' by Fyodor Dostoevsky followed by 'The Fall' is a thought-provoking way to think about both books. Like any book, they can be syntopically read. But, I believe Camus drew a lot of his stylistic writing and themes from Dostoevsky. I had multiple flags while reading the fall of the terms or nuances from The Underground but used them in a way to show Camus world view.
fascinating. that one can highlight small irrelevant questions/situations that then show the grander question/situation behind it. but was it on purpose or do we read too much into it? are they simple minded and we read over it or are they extremely clever and provoke the small minded in order to poke the bigger issue? i can only apologise that it took me two years to get here... better late than never? now to find some Trout...
Thank you very much! I do hope to come back soon, as I have a lot to film and put out. I have just had one thing after another going on. But, I will hopefully start posting again this month 😊
And this is the trouble with rabbit holes… you’re a busy man, my friend. As always, though, you’ve got a video packed with great thoughts and information! Thank you!
Thank you so much for checking this out! Luckily, I will be back posting by the end of this month--lots to come out on Camus, Sartre, and the usual suspects of that time! 😎
What I like about Camus, is his insight through his shadow, especially since he is a male, I'm fascinated by that we all know what's right but some try to just bury it deep down ❤
in part i would agree with him. my body wants to eat cookies all the time, my mind knows that isnt wise. the battle goes on. seriously these videos are so hardcore! bloody optimist thinking there will be people around in a hundred years... hahaha.
This is so wonderful-thank you for the support, the kind words regarding the books, for telling people about the release of “Belonging Again,” and for your outstanding thoughts on Heidegger. This was really well-articulated in exploring and navigating the question of Heidegger’s “existentialism,” and you did it in and with your legendary style, wit, and clarity. Thank you again, Pae, truly.
Ah, sorry for the late response, had a bit of a hiccup the day this video went up. But! There was so much I had to cut from this because of audio problems, but will be discussing more when I get more into Heidegger. Which means I can talk more about your work, which I think needs to be spoken more about haha. Thank you for the continuous thought provoking work! 😎
@@attention5638 Nothing to apologize for at all my friend-I’m utterly honored that you would make the video and love everything you brought out about Heidegger, who I always find infinitely fascinating. Your support of our work, and your willingness to speak on it, truly means the world. (HUGGLE)
