Do you feel the outriggers were a necessary addition? Assuming for standing up mainly but wondering if you had problems with wake before using them. Bought myself one and haven't tested it in anything but calm water so far.
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci 20 дней назад
I know this, when I have my youngest daughter seating in the rear portion of the kayak, I feel like the kayak is eager to roll. This could be also to the weight distribution alone. But when she sits up front and I have my seat all the way back, it's very steady. No problems whatsoever. You can safely assume that larger outriggers would help the kayak be even steadier. Or if you have these installed even further apart, but that would make things more cumbersome in narrow places.
@Willdevl

@@Andi_Doci Gotcha. Yeah I'm a bigger guy than you, 250, and felt I had a lot of water in the back, scupper holes weren't even draining it, but I had all gear and all in the back, feels like I need to shift some weight forward but others have stated water in the kayak is normal and it won't sink with only 320 lbs at most. First time using this sit on top style vs sit in. Feel way more confident after watching your vids explaining the weight could be close to 700 you feel. Thanks for the great info, I'm in the cap Canaveral area, bought the same model, now looking at good launch spots for calmer waters. Mosquito lagoon looks good 👍

How has it been transporting to & from? I am looking to get my first truck! A foldable kayak in a 5 foot bed seems great.
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
It's been phenomenal. Even when I don't fold it, it's just very convenient. I build a dolly out of available components because beach launching is a little complex, but with that dolly it should be simple. So, stay tuned I should make video soon on the beach. But I would recommend you do the same. Overall, my set up its toon for convenience. Storage, transport, launch, all have to be convenient.
@ramonguirao6072

Why did you choose to put the outriggers on in the front instead of in the back where the premolded slots are?
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
The placement of the outriggers was pretty much because of the ease of installation possible by the pre molded locations available in this kayak at the front. The moldings in the back aren't the same size as the two in the front, they are actually smaller, so the Starport bases do not fit. The design of these outriggers is such that if I wanted to install them in the back, I would need a one-piece pipe to make it possible to install in the back. Doing so it would make it somewhat semi permanents and more difficult for transport. This is because I could not use the Starport bases, unless I installed the bases with the included screws for the outriggers. I just did not want to do that. Regardless, the best location is usually right in the middle. But in that case, you would not be able to paddle. But still the location on this kayak is actually very optimal because it is surprisingly stable considering the size of the outriggers. The location where you place your foot to hop on the kayak is closer with the placement of the outrigger as compared to the placement to the rear. And most of the waves usually hit you from the front, therefore presenting the effect of the outriggers immediately and negating the rolling effect immediately. Obviously, the size of the outriggers matters but as I said they happen to be effective for the size they are. Also, if you look at larger outriggers, they look have similar attachment in terms of size, making it possible to use the same hardware to mount larger outriggers if need be. But to sum up the stability question. Why are performance trikes always designed with two wheels up front? And all trikes that have two wheels in the rear are always utility trikes that carry loads in the rear? Because performance in corners means you need stability up front, and with utility you aren't thinking about performance, but you are placing most carrying capacity right under the load. So, what is more stable than a performance trike? A car! So, placing the outriggers right in the center gives you the same effect as having a wheel in each corner. Mathematically it is equivalent; therefore, it predicts that the performance is the same as having them in each corner. Anyway, I know it's too lengthy of an explanation, but I hope it answers a lot of current and future questions.

thanks, super helpful! What are those stickers it comes with for?
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
Just as I guessed, but I did verify it by reading a post in the DJI official forum. The stickers are in case there is any play between the DJI quick release and the ACTION 4 camera. Mine is very firm in its connection to the quick release, but I am guessing that the quick release adapters from other DJI models could be older or slightly looser because of age or design and still work. So, many people would still use the older quick releases and therefore they might find these blue stickers useful, the anti-slip pads as they are officially called, to mount the camera firmly in place to the older mounts that they already own.

All kayaks have that issue. But there are two solutions for you so you can have a "peace of mind". One is to simply foam fill it; the other is to fill it with empty soda bottles that are capped tight. I have mine filled with foam; 2-part flotation foam purchased on amazon. How do you know usb 3.2 gen 2 is required? Do you have source? The cable that came with the camera doesnt seem to transfer data any faster than my 2.0 cables and on the website it offers a 30w brick for the camera. Im not sure how data speeds can affect the power being delivered for bypass but i think 30w cable and power bank should be safe. Could you be confusing usb versions for charging speeds? I believe PD is suggested but other than that even usb 2.0 cables can deliver 100w.
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
There is really no source. It is a feature that I have discovered, per say. And because I did not get this info from a source that intended it to work for it this way, I simply played it safe and ran the best possible available solution that I could find at the time. Can it work at lower spec? Well, if you are willing to risk your 200-400$ and see if it is safe, then fine. But I was spreading the message and I wanted to make sure I was as safe to the equipment as possible. So much so that I would not tell someone to do something without I myself doing the same thing and knowing it works. Because you don't have to lose the gear to lose value. I.e. you can also prep yourself for a trip, relying on this info and end up not making the video because in some situation the device is not getting enough power and therefore it can't run at that time. Because modern equipment doesn't always run their full set of features, they do so to save power. But at times they might need to upscale the power required, and you end up not having enough power delivered to it so therefore you end up crashing the device, or furthermore, damaging the device.
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
To answer the question in simple terms. What you are seeing in this video is not on the books, and therefore not a guide of simply pass-through charging with the battery on. This is specifically intended to when you are not running the battery in the device. If you are going to run the battery in the device, I am sure you would be safe even with less power. Because in that case it would serve as a run time extender. And, when you turn the device off, it would simply continue charging slower.
@ryan.2327
@ryan.2327 Месяц назад
@@Andi_Doci yes but i am trying to understand why specifically usb 3.2 gen 2. Usb version usually pertains to data transfer speed and not charging speed or delivery. A 60w usb 2.0 vs 60w usb 3.2 gen 2, both will charge at 60w, difference is 2.0 transfers data at 480mbps where 3.2 gen 2 can do 20gbps. I brought up PD because it is related to charging in potentially high speeds and safer with the devices being able to communicate with the charger, and understandably DJI suggests PD. I understand you would want to have a certain amount of power delivered or higher, i just don’t understand why versions pertaining to data transfer speeds matter here.
@Andi_Doci
@Andi_Doci Месяц назад
@@ryan.2327 You have to look at the 5 Volt specification. Then You will realize that. Look, I don't want to go and restudy everything when I made sure this was running well. But PD refers to power deliver meaning power only. No data transfer! So, look into that specification. Otherwise take my recommendation as stated USB 3.2 Gen 2 has the highest power output that can keep the device fed and working well while in power only mode. So, as stated before, what works for me works for you. If you want something else, then do your own due diligence.

Yes, normal storage size as in any other scooter. Not super secure but it's there and it's the usual size. Good enough for a half helmet and a lite jacket.

Power bank support 4k 120f or not

I have not tested it with the 120 FPS, but it does no problem and just fine with same settings, all features enabled for best quality and performance at 60 FPS. So, I would say there is no reason as to why it should not. Also, the power bank I have listed in the description has a power save feature in one of the USB outputs and not the other. So, if you find it that your camera turns off at times right after you start recording without battery, it works fine for me when I switch to the other one. I don't remember if it's the left or right one. So, make sure you check before you decide to make a long trip.
