When I first time touched Tribunal (it was already goty edition with everything in one box) I just got new spell effects, used merchants gold and never even touched main story. There is a reason expansion delay mod is one of the most downloaded on Nexus. For bloodmoon I did some innitial quests to the point of being rushed by band of ork legionaries armed with jinkblades rushing mach 2 on skooma. My character was way to weak to handle that. Never got there since, so I'm skipping Bloodmoon story segment to not spoil myself even more. One day I'll finish it.
Well for whatever it's worth, pal. I wish you nothing but the best of luck whenever you do pick up Bloodmoon. I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun in the expansion! In any case, thanks for the comment! Take care of yourself!
So glad I found your channel recently looking up Arena videos. Your videos have such a high quality. Hard to believe you're not much bigger. Still, congrats and thank you for the great content
Thanks a ton for this lovely comment. I try my very best with my videos, I know they aren't perfect but I still do my best. It's good to know you noticed so thank you very much. Take great care of yourself and I hope my videos continue to make you happy!
Thank you for the wonder reception to this video! Sorry it took so long to get done. Now I just need to do Battlespire and The Elder Scrolls: Online. I hope you'll join me for the adventures those games will bring! Take great care of yourself, pal.
Oh hey something I actually know about. I played red guard as a kid and fallout one. Red guard always ran like that. Bethesda jank isn’t a new concept. The laser grid going down in fallout one has been an issue since version one. It was broken on release. Fallout was also massively janky and the only real fixes for have ever came out of Eastern Europe due to the complexity behind its coding. But yeah modern hardware doesn’t help these issues but it also doesn’t matter as much as you think it’s more the games them selves.
Ahhhh thank you! I had a feeling it was a bit janky even on launch but couldn't actually say it for sure. Still as strange as it might seem I still would love to one day try it on the original hardware and experience it WITHOUT emulation. I think it would be fun hahaha. Either way again thanks for letting me know, pal! Take care of yourself!
21:14 Pretty raunchy yeah but to be fair we all do it and isn't something to be ashamed of! 😊 18:40 im not an expert TES lore-head but Im pretty sure these guys make their "soap" out of the young of their own species? That or a rival species but either way is pretty fking macabre
@@LycaniteTV Morrowind is probably the darkest title in the series. Which really helps that alien feeling. Skyrim is positively friendly in comparison :p
almost assuredly unrelated to anything talked about IN this vid, but using the console to free cam or force third person view during the into sequence is funny as hell cuz you're just a tiny dude running around like stuart little to have the camera low to the ground to give the illusion of crawling on the floor as a baby or being a kid having a birthday party. though the mental image of a kid getting bullied while they look like just a normal adult scaled down feels like an Adult Swim comedy skit in between shows
17:35 i like how this game goes from a fairly light aquapunk aesthetic into extreme Elden Ring level body horror for absolutely no reason and without warning
3:12 "what kids think are the most heinous crimes" I mean, getting grounded back in the day was basically the child version of being put on house arrest, so kinda close
Early 3D games are tricky get working perfectly in emulation. I should try it with PCEM, since GOG usually uses legacy DOSBox, exoDOS I believe uses DOSBox X… and even within those emulators, there are a lot of tweaks. I am guessing it’s both Redguard running goofy *and* the emulation is not as cycle accurate as we all would like.
Well apparently I was right about the Lighthouse puzzle and it being an known issue, somebody was kind enough to point that out which makes me feel less crazy about the whole thing. Still I'd love to know how the game runs on the real hardware. Who knows, maybe one day hahahaha. Still thanks for letting me know about the DOSbox on both GOG and exoDOS.
I believe you when you say there is difference between the 2 emulator version. Even if it's not obvious in recording. I used to casually bunny-hop in CS 1.6 and there it is noticeable if you're playing on 10-20 ping/latency server vs playing on your own machine with 0 ping. And I do mean ten-twenty, it's not a typo.
David, great to see you, pal! I hope you are doing well. Now that Redguard is done, I've got Battlespire to finish now... And I guess The Elder Scrolls: Online but that one will take a while to make hahhaa, either way I hope you enjoyed the video, pal.
Redguard is a pretty rad game honestly. Could kinda see the writing on the wall though, with the art direction. It was kind of like a midway point between what we had with Daggerfall, and what would eventually be Morrowind. But it is jank as heck though, even for a Bethesda game. Maybe even more than Battlespire is.
Once I get around to playing Battlespire, I'll have to comment on which I felt was better - Redguard or Battlespire. I think it's going to be interesting!
OH MY GOD! IT'S HERE! I remember a while back you asked for video game suggestions and I suggested the spin-off TES games like Redguard and Battlespire and it's here! It's cool that you *thought* you played a demo of it in the past prior to doing this video, that was still closer to playing it than I've ever done lol
Yuuuup. I still need to dive into Battlespire and with any luck ExoDOS will actually let the game run for me, I haven't been able to get it running on ANY other platform which is annoying. Either way I hope you enjoyed the video, pal. I hope it was worth the wait.
57:40 - Tomb Raider's controls are substantially better than Redguard's, putting it bluntly. Well, partly because the camera isn't glued to your character's backside in those games, but also because Lara Croft just has a lot more maneuverability options and her gun-based combat is generally more functional and flexible than Redguard's sword and the limited movement you're allowed while it's drawn. (Though, a lot of Tomb Raider fights, especially with enemies that ALSO have guns, still end up more as medkit checks than real challenges.) While Redguard might have the tank controls, it doesn't have the acrobatic maneuvers or the finely-tuned grid-based level-design. So on the whole the similarity is very skin-deep.
I didn't say it but I did have a feeling Tomb Raider played smoother than Redguard so thanks for confirming it. However it really does make me wonder how they might have improved the overall gameplay or level design if given the chance for a sequel to Redguard. I guess we'll never know. Again thanks for comment!
@@LycaniteTV Good question. I was thinking of another Q&A, but I hadn't put much thought into it. If I come up with something so amazing that it will blow your horse armor off, then I'll let you know!
The UESP wiki's entry for the quest talks about the problems with the lighthouse. It's similar to what you were saying about the Fallout force fields. "If you can't get the timings of the flashes right at the Saintsport lighthouse and you're playing on the DOSBox emulated version, try lowering your CPU cycles from 100% to around 5-10%. This slows down the processing of the game, allowing you to achieve the timings."
I KNEW IT WASN'T CRAZY!!!!! Thanks for telling me about this! I feel so much better now, I thought I just sucked big time at this game and/or the puzzle.
It's an old trope in pirate movies for someone to safely descend from a great height, usually from the top of a ship's rigging down to the deck, by stabbing a dagger into the ship's sail and using the cutting of the cloth to slow their fall. I'm not surprised to see it used in Redguard.
The fact you payed essentially Charon ( Ferryman of the dead) to take you away for the game to crash amuses me tremendously! Great video my guy! It was a great watch this late evening! Hope you’re still focusing on your health? :)
I guess I know how my own afterlife will go now. I'll pay him, sail along the river stix and then half way he'll turn around with Todd Howards face and say "GOTCHA NOW!" and then I'll be sent into nothingness hahaha. Classic Todd prank.
1:08 let me guess...you have to sit through that 6 hour stooping animation for every single item you pick up Edit: that in game map is beautiful though
Yuuuuuuuup. Every item pick up makes you stop what your doing, adjust your position and then bend over to pick it up. It even does it with drinking potions.
Ahh a new Lycan TES video. Redguard is one of the series i've not played at all, nor seen much gameplay of it. Based on the thumbnail, it looks like a swashbuckling adventure!
Love your content, hope to see more. Will we be getting vids for the other spinoffs (like Battlespire and/or, uhh... Battlespire...?) or do those already exist?
Truth be told I haven't been able to get Battlespire to run correctly at all on ANY computer I've put it on and from all the platforms I've tried it on (Steam, GOG). Hence why I just skipped over it and went to Redguard. HOWEVER!!! Now that I know about ExoDOS and do see that the game is on there, I'll have to boot it up and see if it works and IF it does then YES I'll be making a Battlespire video for sure, pal. I'll even be doing Elder Scrolls: Online but that one will take a while to do hahaha.
@@LycaniteTV Omg, thank you so much for replying! I've only started watching your videos only month or so ago, but I've fallen in love with your witty comments and hilarious stories. It's always a good thing to know you have something in the works. Again, thank you.
@@pilymonsivais3 Thank YOU for the reply, pal. Not only that but the extremely kind words. It's comments like this that truly inspire me to keep working as hard as I do on these videos so thank you.
@@michellebrickner9307 That's wonderful! For whatever it's worth to you, I wish you the best of luck getting everything set up. I'm sure he's going to have a blast tomorrow.
38:30 actually this brings up a good point: that dragon could show up in a future elder scrolls game now, since Cyrus isn't a dragonborn, you did NOT permanently slay that dragon.
Very good point! I forgot about that little detail. It would be really awesome if the dragon does appear again. It would be like Bethesda giving a little nod and wink to any and all Redguard fans.
Not here to watch it yet. I know it's going to be a great fucking watch so I'm saving it for a good evening to enjoy thoroughly. Loved all your other Elder Scrolls content so far
@@Miami_Fred Ugh, I feel that, man! Well hey for whatever it's worth. I wish you nothing but the best at work. Take care of yourself and I'll try to get the new video out for you soon, pal. I gotta give you something to listen to hahaha.
Nice to see another video from you man glad your finally getting over your sickness best wishes man and venture on and continue to make amazing content
Yup. I'm still working on it, the videos should be coming out soon-ish. I've just had some life stuff push back my entire video schedule. But I promise they'll be coming as soon as I can get them out.
