It is a fair question, rewinding the pistion wouldnt cause air to get into the system so no need to bleed as no air will have gotten in but there are mixed views on if it should be done each time you do the brakes to let any contaminants out or if at the 2 year recomended brake system flush ford seem to recomend. Bleeding/flushing will let out any contaminated fluid and improve the life of the system for sure and a good idea to do it when replacing pads/discs as you suggest
Followed these instructions to the letter. The vehicle started first time and although a little rough in idle, I took it up the dual carriageway and experienced the car better than I have ever known it. Great Job, great video, Anton. Thank you.
So far I love it, newer engine is smoother, more space inside both width and length in the back , boot space is better too. With more tec I feel slightly less connection to road when pushing harder around tight roads but still great fun to drive and the tec is all quite useful a well laid out. Engine is very simular in output even though more refined and little quieter and the 6 speed gearbox allows power at lower revs so you never need to go much above 1800 revs. I'm getting around 65mpg tank to tank on a long run sitting st 68mph and 48 in constant start stop days in the city Very happy overall, cabin very pleasant too!
@@AntonLippek hey man is it possible you show me more photos of the car, I am so addicted to the focus to be honest and would like to chat with some people who have it, I want to go for the 2.0 engine, I am in Sweden :)
Just changed the same filter on my Focus Mk2, after trying a few methods I saw on RU-vid, I tried my own method and managed to get it to tick over and run because I needed to move it. Later it started but then stopped after a minute and wouldn't start, so I am going to try your method because I think air is still in the line somewhere.
What I found was the filter, a no name one, was leaking from the water drain, but I couldn't see it. I bought a MANN filter and filled it with fuel first, this made it very easy to clear any air.
Had to perform this task myself a few weeks ago (in sub-zero temps) on my 2008 Focus TDCi. I even bought/purchased the "Hand squeeze pump" and some 8mm rubber tubing to manually bleed the new fuel pump. Have also replaced the EGR valve and the air filter. Added "Injector cleaner and DPF filter cleaner in my filled up to the max tank. Now my Focus is running sweet as a nut.
Hello mate, got the same car but from 2004. The fuel filter isn't the same as yours. Is the output line at the top or at where the fuel heater is ? Thanks
I'm not sure about which engine you have and not worked on the mk1s before but if you follow the fuel lines the output will go feed the injectors, hope that helps
You need to prime by drawing fuel through the filter so it becomes full. Essentially you work out which pipe goes from the filter to the injectors and pull the fuel through with a priming bulb between
@@AntonLippek so after all sorts I kinda got it working. I Use earbuds for music from my phone and also use the galaxy watch 4 with strava app on that also. It's never told me km starting from watch however it does call out "starting run". so I disconnected the watch and started from phone app instead and only if i use run and for example not walk it will read every km only if i do run. i want to switch to strava but samsung health is so much better had no issues at all but most use strava
Hey mate, with my car the bottom half of the bolt has sheared, but the top half with nut is still there. Will this need hammering out or will it loosen when jacked up?
If there's not much corrosion you should be able to wiggle it out when jacked up , most of the pressure will be released then but you may need some extra force though
@@AntonLippek My hex head also shared off , had to punch it out , rest of bolt corroded into metal bushes ,took some effort, once clean out they go in easy.
Exactly same here as well, on a -08 estate. Took a few weeks to localize it, with "not good noises" from the rear when driving over bumps but other (ball-)bushings/-bearings was good. The bolt was still sorta fitted so no visual cues. Now just to get that part number.
There can be some at times but varies with the level, Ive only ever been when the level is 4m and above so not sure what it's like below that level but such a great surf 😁
@@adamsargeant2991 you can at some levels get on easy enough but it's a challenge as it gets higher I'm a playboat , but you can catch the wave from above still and it's not too challenging to get back up. Just gotta make the most of each ride :p
