That gap looks a little bit high for thorough mixing. There is something called the dime test to see if the beater is at the correct height. Your mixer was made at some point after KitchenAid decided to no longer put a spring and washer on the beater shaft which helps keep your beater in good condition end without the spring beaters tend to wear prematurely. I have both and personally Simple Modern takes the lead in the 24 hour ice test, in my opinion. Also the SM doesn’t have the rubber on the handle but it does have a more structural curve to the inner part of the handle and a slimmer body, which I like. My only concern was drinking from a plastic straw so I swapped mine out for a glass straw when I’m at home and when I’m on the go I use a silicone bpa free one. both tumblers are great but simple modern was more with in my budget. so it’s all about preference in the end.

Simple Modern is better. I'm not a tumbler girl either. I like to use my regular isulated water bottles for hydration.

I just switch out a 10 year old Sealy for a new BedStory. After 4 days the top layer of the new mattress is only 1/2-3/4 expanded. I have buyers regret. I wish I would have kept the Sealy and just opened up the top to remove/replace the sag layers. An old mattress CAN be renewed that way. Wish I had gone that route
